The 2023 Lineup of GMC SUVs

GMC has always been at the forefront of designing class-leading SUVs. Vehicles like the Yukon are recognized as the go-to for comfortable transportation for the most elite of passengers. Through years of tireless innovation, it pushes the boundaries of what the SUV can achieve. Through power, style, and attention to detail, GMC has developed a lineup of SUVs that are among the most popular in the automotive landscape. For 2023, GMC has developed some key updates to its SUVs. The ‘23 GMC SUV inventory consists of the Terrain, Acadia, Yukon, Yukon XL, and Hummer EV. If you’re not entirely familiar with these models, you’ve come to the right place.

Start your research here before heading to your local GMC dealer and sealing the deal. With five different SUV models to choose from, we aim to help you determine which is right for you. GMC builds exquisite vehicles of every body shape, but the SUV segment makes up the highest-selling portion of their lineup. Here, we focus on the core SUVs that have been around the longest: the Terrain, Acadia, and Yukon/Yukon XL. Each year, GMC revamps the lineup to include the latest in safety and style, debuting vehicles that exceed the expectations of today’s consumer.

2023 GMC Terrain

The 2023 GMC Terrain is the compact SUV of the lineup with four available trims to choose from: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The Terrain is popular among busy families seeking a flexible, safe, and affordable vehicle. With an abundance of modern safety technology and a suite of features designed around your convenience, the 2023 Terrain is ideal for anyone wanting the versatility of an SUV without the hassle of a large, three-row vehicle. The turbocharged 1.5L V-4 engine delivers a cool 175 hp while maintaining fuel efficiency. The front-wheel drive Terrain gets an EPA-estimated 24 MPG city and 29 MPG highway, while the all-wheel drive version only slightly varies with 24 MPG city and 28 MPG highway.

Comfortably seating up to five passengers, the Terrain may be small, but it’s still generous with cargo space. Easily store your belongings with 29.6 cu.ft. of space behind the second row. If you need additional space, you can fold down the second row, increasing the total cargo room to 63.3 cu.ft. The SLE and SLE trim allows you to flat-fold the front passenger seat. The 2023 Terrain is easily customizable, with several options to style it to your liking. Aside from the four trim levels, there are packages available such as the Elevation Edition for the SLE and SLT. The Elevation Edition includes 19-inch Gloss-Black painted aluminum wheels, a darkened sleek front grille, black exterior badging, black exterior accents and side mirror caps, and black roof side rails. This package gives your Terrain an elevated look that’ll have you looking forward to pulling up to any valet stand.

2023 GMC Acadia

If you’re searching for the perfect mid-size SUV, look no further than the 2023 GMC Acadia. Standard three-row seatings make the Acadia a family-friendly option for any driver looking to transport their loved ones in style. Choose from the SLE, SLT, AT4, or Denali trim levels on the Acadia to select the features and options that best suit your and your family’s needs. The Acadia offers many desirable features, including its generous space, comfortable interior, and the assurance of its suite of safety technology. It‘s the perfect vehicle for a family at any stage; whether you are installing a car seat for babies and toddlers or driving teenagers around after school, there is room for everyone in the Acadia.

With room for seven passengers, the 2023 Acadia is a convenient and comfortable way to transport yourself, your family, and all your stuff. A happy middle between the Terrain and Yukon, the Acadia is flexible in providing spacious accommodations without sacrificing efficiency and maneuvering in heavy traffic. GMC Pro Safety Plus is standard on all ‘23 Acadias so that you can drive with confidence. Features include Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Change Alert with Blind Zone Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Rear Park Assist. This generous amount of safety technology often costs extra from competing automakers.

2023 Yukon and Yukon XL

The 2023 Yukon and Yukon XL are the largest of the SUV category available for GMC drivers. With available seating for up to nine passengers, the Yukon and Yukon XL are the go-to for comfortable transportation for larger groups and families. These SUVs are a stylish expression of what’s possible when an automotive company designs a vehicle with the passenger in mind. Full-size SUVs can be boring and bland, not the Yukon. Beautiful chrome accents, an eye-catching grille, and high-end wheel options create an exterior aesthetic of luxury. Inside, the Yukon and Yukon XL are full of quality materials, large interactive screens, and tons of cargo space, making any excursion a breeze.

There are three available engines for these 2023 models. Choose from a 5.3L V8 with an output of 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, standard on the SLE, STL, and AT4 trims. On this two-wheel drive configuration, you get a 10-speed automatic transmission and EPA estimated fuel economy of 15 MPG city and 20 MPG highway. The next available engine is a 6.2L V8, standard on the Denali Ultimate and the Denali and optional on the AT4, with a hair-raising output of 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine delivers an EPA-estimated 14 MPG city/ 20 MPG highway. Your final option for the powertrain is a turbocharged 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine available for the Denali Ultimate, the SLT, or the SLE. This engine is beneficial, especially in the Yukon XL, because of its astounding 756-mile range on one full tank. It delivers 277 hp, 460 lb-ft of torque and has a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Yukon and Yukon XL can take you wherever you need to go with the Traction Select System. The Select System comes with four-wheel drive Yukons, towing capabilities, and the first-in-class four-corner air ride adaptive suspension system that defines the idea of a comfortable ride. It’s a suspension that self-adjusts according to driving conditions and raises the Yukon up to 2 inches for better ground clearance. This feature is standard on the Denali Ultimate and available on the AT4, and Denali trims.
