Electric Nissan Leaf Has 107 Mile Range

Looking for a 100% electric car? The 2017 Nissan Leaf may be just the car that you have been waiting for. Available in three different models, the Nissan Leaf “S”, the “SV,” or the Leaf “SL,” this electric car is not only practical and fun to drive, but is helping people save the environment every day.

Base Model Nissan Leaf “S”

The Nissan Leaf’s base model, the Leaf “S” has a starting MSRP of $30,680. This 100% electric car means no more stops to get gas, ever. The motor is an 80kW AC synchronous electric motor. Powered entirely by a 30kWh lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery. A 3.6 kW onboard charger is standard in the Leaf S, but you could always elect to upgrade to the 6.6kWh charger for quicker battery refilling. This electric vehicle produces zero emissions. ZERO. A Portable trickle charge cable, which carries a current of 110-120 Volts is standard as well. The normal charge port comes standard, whereas an optional quick charger can be upgraded, too. The single speed reduction gear drive train has a palm-shift drive selector and a hill start assist. 4-wheel vented disc brakes are standard, as well as the regenerative braking system which charges the battery while the brakes are being applied. 4-wheel ABS and electronic brake-force distribution are also standard on the Nissan Leaf “S” model.

Leaf Interior

Nissan’s intelligent key push button start is a neat feature that eliminates the need for bulky old style keys. A hands-free text messaging assistant is complemented by a Bluetooth hands-free phone system. Automatic temperature control, as well as power windows and locks, of course, are standard as well. Variable windshield wiper controls and a steering wheel mounted cruise control make you feel safe and comfortable. Heated front seats are standard aboard the Leaf as well as a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat. A 5” color audio display with a 3-month SiriusXM satellite radio trial subscription comes with the Leaf to keep you grooving.

It’s So Small Though. Is it Safe?

The 2017 Nissan Leaf is packed with features to keep you safe inside, like Nissan’s advanced airbag system that has dual seat-mounted side impact airbags. Roof-mounted curtain side impact air bag is mounted in both front and rear passenger head protection. Zone body construction creates two separate, front and rear zone crumple protection. Traction control and vehicle dynamic control systems help keep your Leaf safely on the road. An energy absorbing steering wheel column, pipe style steel side door guard beams, and a lower anchor system for car seats should keep your mind safely at ease.

Worth a Shot!

The new Nissan Leaf is the electric vehicle of today. With all the luxuries of a regular or compact sedan, switching to an electric vehicle is available without compromising very much at all. Yes, you may not be able to travel long distances, however, if you do not currently have a long commute to your job, this may be an excellent way to save money. Not only can you save enormous amounts of money on fuel costs alone, you get a tax break from Uncle Sam for buying one! Think about it, helping the environment and saving money.

You win.

The Earth wins.
