Not just one of the finest bands to ever come out of England (delivering unforgettable hits across some of the best albums of the 1970s, ‘80s, and ‘90s—with and without Peter Gabriel), Genesis is also the luxury brand established in recent years by Hyundai. Aimed at taking on some of the biggest names in the auto industry, including BMW and Lexus, Genesis models are designed with bold performance, gorgeous style, and stunningly sophisticated interiors. As you’d expect from this sort of luxurious lineup, Genesis offers a number of different sedans and SUVs for you to choose from, which can make it challenging to narrow down your options and figure out which one is right for you. But that’s why I’m here; let’s take a closer look at this full lineup and get a sense of what each one has to offer so you’ll know which model is right for you.
The 2024 Genesis G70
Kicking things off, we have the Genesis G70, a compact luxury sedan and the perfect entry point for this lineup. Although this has been an impressive option for quite some time now, it looks like it’ll enjoy a nice boost for the 2024 model year with a 2.5L turbocharged engine as its new starting powertrain, delivering 300 hp, with an eight-speed automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive (RWD), and Brembo brakes all standard. All-wheel drive (AWD) is available if you prefer the enhanced traction it provides, and you can choose a 365-hp 3.3L V6 engine for boosted performance. Inside the G70, you’ll find luxurious, high-quality materials, a sleek design, and great tech, including a standard 10.25-inch Infotainment display plus more.
The 2024 Genesis G80
Moving up from the G70, the 2024 Genesis G80 is a midsize luxury sedan aimed at challenging legendary competitors like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series. Remarkably, it does just that by delivering an incredible driving experience, gorgeous design, and impressive features inside and out. Its standard 2.5L turbocharged I-4 engine delivers 300 hp, while an available 3.5L twin-turbo V6 boosts that up to 375 hp and the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in less than five seconds. Inside, you’ll find soft-touch surfaces and premium upholstery like you’d expect, along with an incredible 14.5-inch Infotainment display, heated and ventilated seating, and advanced Intelligent safety technology.
The 2024 Genesis Electrified G80
Like the gorgeous styling and impressive features of the G80 midsize sedan, but want all-electric performance? Then you’re in luck with the Electrified G80 and its pair of motors that generate 365 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. With an estimated 282 miles of range from a full charge, the Electrified G80 is perfect for enjoying your daily commute, taking long road trips, and simply getting away from it all on the weekend. This is the second year for the G80 EV version, and it’s already won over a lot of fans thanks to its bold performance and stunning interior details like soft leather seating and real wood trim.
The 2024 Genesis G90
Our final sedan entry, the Genesis G90 is a full-size luxury car that’s perfect if you like to have something a bit bigger under your control on the road. The G90 enjoyed a full redesign last year, which you get to enjoy on 2024 models, including a twin-turbo V6 engine tuned to deliver either 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque on the standard model or 409 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque on the E-Supercharger version. Last year’s redesign made the G90 one of the most stunning vehicles on the inside, where you’ll find Nappa leather seating, a pair of 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and the digital cluster, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system for incredible audio.
The 2024 Genesis GV60
Here, we have the first of several SUV options; not only that, but an all-electric offering with impressive performance and range. First released just last year, the GV60 is a battery-powered crossover with a pair of motors and two different performance options. The GV60 Advanced offers 314 hp and 248 miles of range from a full charge, while the GV60 Performance trim has boosted power for 429 hp and an estimated 235 miles of total range. Four distinct drive modes let you easily choose between different performance options, while a pair of 12.3-inch displays beautifully accompanies advanced tech features like facial recognition for keyless start functionality and fingerprint scanners for keyless entry.
The 2024 Genesis GV70
For something a bit larger, with a conventional engine, the Genesis GV70 is a compact crossover that delivers bold performance with luxury that’s emblematic of this upscale brand. A 300-hp 2.5L engine is standard on the GV70, with a V6 that delivers 375 hp available if you’re looking for more robust power from your compact SUV. AWD is standard on the GV70, which is perfect for driving in rough weather or on dirt and gravel roads, keeping you in control at all times. You’ll find the interior of the GV70 to be surprisingly spacious and enjoyable, with luxurious materials inside and a large 14.5-inch Infotainment display for easy use.
The 2024 Genesis Electrified GV70
If you want an all-electric SUV, but you need something larger than the GV60, then this is the perfect option. Keeping the compact design of the standard GV70 model, the Electrified GV70 features a pair of motors for AWD performance and 429 hp while giving you an estimated 236 miles of range from a full charge. It’s gorgeous inside, as you’d expect, with stunning interior options and innovative technology that takes your driving experience to the next level.
The 2024 Genesis GV80
The final option currently available in the Genesis lineup, the GV80, is a bold and sophisticated midsize SUV that delivers on everything we’ve come to expect from this brand. You get AWD standard on the GV80 and the same engine options as the GV70: a 2.5L I-4 with 300 hp or a twin-turbo V6 that boosts that up to 375 hp. Both engines make the GV80 incredibly fun to drive, while the spacious interior welcomes you and your passengers with unsurpassed luxury and comfort. Combine that with a standard 14.5-inch Infotainment display, a wireless charger, and heated front seats, and you have an SUV designed to be driven.
The Genesis GV80 Coupe and GV90
Although not available just yet, two more models are expected to join the Genesis lineup in the next year or so. Revealed as a concept vehicle, a GV80 Coupe model takes the incredible features found in the standard GV80 and adds a sleek, fastback design for an even more gorgeous look and feel. Details are slim on what the production version of this vehicle will have, but the concept included four bucket seats inside and performance-focused features throughout. Word is that Genesis is also working on a new GV90 SUV, which will be larger than any other vehicle in its lineup. Little is known about this one just yet, though word is that it’ll be an all-electric model designed to beautifully bookend the lineup with the small GV60.
Which Genesis Has What You’ve Been Looking For?
Now that we’ve had a good look at what Genesis has to offer, you shouldn’t be in a land of confusion anymore. Before you get in too deep looking at different models from any brand, it helps to take a big-picture approach first and see what each vehicle offers. I can’t dance around the fact that shopping for a car can be a bit of a challenge, but the more you figure out ahead of time with just a bit of research, the easier everything becomes. That way, when you find a vehicle that you look at and think, “Hey, that car has a hold on my heart,” you’ll know that you’ve found the right one, and you can drive with confidence, knowing that you’ve picked a Genesis with everything you’ve been looking for, and that’s all.
