The 2020 Ford Expedition: Your Search for a Large SUV is Over!

If you are in the market for a large SUV, then you can end your search now. The 2020 Ford Expedition has so many standard features, exceptional gas mileage, and great looks, that even the pickiest buyer will find a reason to be cheerful with this SUV. With four different models to choose from, each in two different configurations, you should have no problem finding the Expedition that meets your needs and fulfills your every desire.

Four models to choose from in two different configurations

There are four models of the all-new 2020 Ford Expedition: XLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum. Each comes in a standard edition, and a MAX edition, which adds over 9 inches to the wheelbase, extending the length of the vehicle, and allowing for more cargo space. The XLT starts at an MSRP of $52,810 and has plenty of standard entertainment, safety, and luxury features that it would be an insult to call this the “base” model.

The XLT MAX starts at an MSRP of $55,835, adding roughly $3,000 to the price tag for the longer model. The Limited has a starting MSRP of $63,345, adding an upgraded Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker audio system for audiophiles, as well as running boards and 20-inch premium tarnished dark-painted wheels to all the standard features on the XLT. The longer Limited MAX starts at an MSRP of $66,375.

Want to make a bold statement? Check out the King Ranch at an MSRP of $72,895. This model features a Mesa/Ebony interior with DelRio leather seats, console, door, and driving wheel, 22-inch 6-spoke painted machined-face aluminum wheels, and a 360-degree camera with split-view and front/rear washer. The King Ranch MAX has an MSRP of $75,590.

For the ultimate in luxury, Ford offers the Expedition Platinum, starting at an MSRP of $73,935. This model features a panoramic vista roof, a larger engine, and multi-contour leather seats with Active Motion that have multiple positioning so you won’t get fatigued while driving. The 2020 Ford Expedition Platinum MAX starts at $76,965 MSRP.

Plenty of Room for You and Your Passengers

The 2020 Ford Expedition is an extremely well-configured large SUV, providing plenty of room for eight passengers in its three rows of seats. Whether you choose the standard configuration with a 122.5-inch wheelbase or the MAX with a 131.6-inch wheelbase, the interior of this SUV will be roomy enough for you and all your friends and family.

Front-row passengers will enjoy 42 inches of headroom, 43.9 inches of legroom, and 64.9 inches of shoulder room in their captain’s chairs. The second row is set up as a 40/20/40 split-bench, with 40 inches of headroom, 41.5 inches of legroom, and 64.8 inches of shoulder room.

The third row is configured as a 60/40 split-bench, with 37.3 inches of headroom (37.4 inches in the MAX), 36.1 inches of legroom, and 64.2 inches of shoulder room (64.3 inches in the MAX). This constitutes the best-in-class legroom for three-row large SUVs. Ford achieves this much passenger space by efficiently utilizing the dimensions of the 2020 Ford Expedition, a full 79.9 inches of width, and 210 inches of length (221.9 inches in the MAX).

Need some room for cargo? The maximum cargo space on the standard configuration is 104.6 cubic feet with both the second and third rows folded down. The MAX provides even more, a generous 121.5 cubic feet with both rows folded down. Even with the seats up, you still get 20.9 cubic feet behind the third row of seats and 63.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row of seats in the standard model. All 2020 Ford Expedition models come with standard PowerFold and Power Recline third-row seats, making access as simple as the touch of a button!

An Engine with Power and Efficiency

The 2020 Ford Expedition comes with a standard 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. Utilizing a 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift allows this engine to produce 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Platinum and Platinum MAX come with a slightly more powerful 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but Control Trac four-wheel drive is available at an optional additional charge.

How efficient is this engine? The standard engine with rear-wheel drive is estimated to give you an incredible combined 20 miles per gallon, consisting of 17 miles per gallon in city driving and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

The four-wheel drive option gives you some more control, but also won’t hurt you at the pump, with an estimated fuel economy of 17 miles per gallon in the city, 23 miles per gallon on the highway, and an overall combined 19 miles per gallon. If you opt for the extra room of the MAX, you won’t be paying the price at the pump, with an estimated combined gas mileage of 19 miles per gallon, with 17 miles per gallon city and 22 miles per gallon highway.

The MAX also comes with optional four wheel drive, estimated to have only slightly less fuel efficiency: 16 miles per gallon in city driving, 21 miles per gallon highway, and 18 miles per gallon combined. How strong is this engine? If you opt for the heavy-duty trailer tow package, you will be able to tow up to a best-in-class 9,300 pounds with your 2020 Ford Expedition.

Standard safety features on all Expeditions

Ford has made its CoPilot360 system standard on all 2020 Ford Expedition models. This is an exceptional package of features designed to keep you and your family safety while reducing the risk of collision with your new vehicle. Pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking will immediately alert you if a collision with another car or a pedestrian is imminent.

In addition, the car will automatically engage the brakes if you do not react fast enough to the alert. Ford’s BLIS system stands for Blind Spot Information System, and it helps you with lane changes in traffic, spotting any traffic hanging back in your blind spots. It will even provide this if you are towing a trailer!

The lane-keeping system will help you stay in lane if you drift or are distracted while driving. CoPilot 360TM also includes a rear view camera, auto high-beam headlamps, individual tire pressure monitoring system, four-wheel disc brakes with an anti-lock braking system, and front, side and canopy airbags. Your safety is priority number one for Ford.

Keeping You and Your Passengers Entertained

The entertainment and connectivity standard features on your new 2020 Ford Expedition should provide you and your passengers with hours of entertainment. All models come with the FordPass Connect providing you with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 10 mobile devices. In addition, the entertainment system includes SiriusXM satellite radio, MP3 player, and AM/FM stereo, and dual USB ports in the front and second row of seats. Ford’s Sync 3 connects your phone to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, depending on your phone’s operating system. All of these features will help you stay connected wherever your adventures may take you with your 2020 Ford Expedition.

A Painter’s Pallet of Colors

Ford offers you a painter’s pallet of colors to choose from for your new Expedition. Choose from blue, magnetic, agate black, Oxford white, burgundy velvet, desert gold, iconic silver, rapid red, and star white. Whichever color you choose, you are sure to look sharp.
