As for the powertrain lineup, there are five incredible units to choose from. The first is a turbocharged 2.7-liter 4-cylinder motor that makes 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission and start-stop technology, it has a fuel economy set at 20 MPG combined (19 city/22 highway). The towing limit is capped at 7,000 pounds.
The next option is a 4.3-liter V6 motor that pumps out 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. Using a 6-speed automatic transmission, this powertrain can haul up to 7,900 pounds. It also gets 18 MPG combined (16 city/21 highway).
As for the third option, you can get a 3.0-liter turbodiesel I-6 engine that produces 277 hp and a staggering 430 lb-ft of torque. Mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission, this beast gets an average of 27 MPG combined (23 city/33 highway). That’s pretty good for such a large vehicle.
Next, we have the 5.3-liter V8 engine that pushes out 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain can be fitted with either a 6- or an 8-speed automatic transmission, and it can manage to tow up to 10,100 pounds. As for the fuel economy, this one only gets about 17 MPG combined (15 city/19 highway).
Finally, the 6.2-liter V8 motor is mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission. It generates 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, and it can haul up to 13,400 pounds without breaking a sweat. The estimated fuel economy is rated at about 18 MPG combined (16 city/20 highway).
Now that you understand what kind of power is available with this pickup truck, let’s look at the trim levels. The base model is known as the Work Truck. It is similar to the Colorado Base with its vinyl upholstery. It also comes with rubber floors, a 2-speaker stereo, and the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System.
