Refreshed for the 2025 model year, the Chevy Tahoe is better than ever, with all sorts of impressive features on offer inside and out. As you may know, this is one of two full-size SUVs from Chevy and the smaller of the options, though “small” is a relative term when looking at the Tahoe because it’s still plenty large. It has three rows of seating inside and is a big, powerful piece of machinery designed as a daily driver for large families. Before you go looking for a Chevy Tahoe for sale, however, it’s a good idea to have a game plan about which model is right for you. To help with that, I’m going to take you through the different trim levels available for the Tahoe and see if we can figure out which one might best meet your needs.
2025 Chevy Tahoe LS
If you want to keep things simple when shopping for a Chevy Tahoe, then the LS trim is the way to go since it has the starting features without too many options. This model comes with the standard 5.3L V8 engine that provides 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, which is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission (all engines come with this transmission). You get two-wheel drive (2WD) standard on the LS, though four-wheel drive (4WD) is available if you prefer the enhanced traction and control it provides. The LS features 18-inch wheels, but 20-inch wheels are available if you prefer them; plus, it has LED exterior lights, black assist steps to help you get in and out, and body-color side mirrors that are heated and power-adjustable.
Despite this being the starting trim for the Tahoe, it doesn’t lack in features inside, including a 17.7-inch infotainment display with Google built-in. This is joined by an 11-inch driver information center screen along with a six-speaker sound system. You’ll find cloth seating in the LS model, including an eight-way power driver’s seat and six-way power front-passenger seat; both have two-way power lumbar. Tri-zone automatic climate control is standard, along with keyless open, remote start functionality, and adaptive cruise control. You also get a great selection of safety features, including enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, blind zone steering assist, enhanced automatic parking assist, and more.
2025 Chevy Tahoe LT
The LT trim is designed to take things further and does so in a number of ways, starting by giving you a second engine to choose from. You can get a 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine on this model that offers 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. That’s massive amounts of torque and impressive overall power; a diesel engine is a niche item for an SUV, but if it’s something you want, then the Chevy Tahoe is an excellent choice. The LT has a number of upgrades and enhancements, including a power-programmable rear liftgate that makes loading and unloading the back of this SUV easier. Interior improvements on this trim include leather-appointed seating with an eight-way power front-passenger seat, heated front seats, and a wireless phone charger that makes it easier to keep compatible devices charged.
2025 Chevy Tahoe RST
Moving up to the RST adds a number of styling options you won’t find on the previous trims and a third available engine. With the RST, you can choose a 6.2L V8 engine that delivers 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque; this is the most powerful engine on offer and a great choice if you want high performance from your full-size SUV. On the outside, the RST has 22-inch High-Gloss Black wheels, the largest offered for this model, giving it a bold and aggressive stance that I quite like. There’s unique RST badging on the exterior, which is fine but not incredible; the nicer touch is the available Jet Black/Victory Red seating inside with perforated leather surfaces that look and feel excellent. Combine this with the bright sill plates and other details inside, and you have a cabin that’s stylish and well-designed.
2025 Chevy Tahoe Premier
If you want all three engines available and some enhanced features inside and out, then the Premier is a great trim to focus on. This model comes with 20-inch polished aluminum wheels that look great and give the Tahoe a powerful stance. The LED headlamps include an animated sequence that activates when you lock or unlock the Tahoe, creating a fun effect when you approach and leave your vehicle. It also has an auto-dimming exterior mirror on the driver’s side, which helps prevent you from being blinded by other vehicles. Inside, the star of the show is probably the 10-speaker Bose CenterPoint Surround sound system that delivers rich, high-quality audio every time you hit the road. Other details like heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seating, and a heated steering wheel are great, but the sound system is the winner.
2025 Chevy Tahoe High Country
In terms of sophisticated features and technology, the High Country is the pinnacle trim with the most to offer. This one is only available with the 6.2L V8 engine or the diesel engine, so keep that in mind. The High Country comes with Magnetic Ride Control for incredible performance in all kinds of conditions, along with enhanced traction for precision steering. You’ll find 22-inch wheels on this model: bright machined aluminum ones are standard, though Carbon Flash Metallic wheels are available if you prefer. You’ll find animated lighting sequences for the headlamps and tail lamps on the High Country, along with Rainsense automatic wipers and more. Inside, you get all the bells and whistles, including the Bose sound system, plus perforated leather seating, four-way power lumbar for the front seats, heated and ventilated front seating, and a 15-inch multi-color head-up display that projects information onto the windshield.
2025 Chevy Tahoe Z71
Although I’ve listed this trim level after the High Country, it doesn’t build on it the way all of the previous trims have—I’m listing this one last because it’s a bit different. The Z71 model is designed for heading off-road and for drivers who enjoy an adventurous, outdoor lifestyle. This model is only offered with 4WD, though it does have all three engines available, so you can get the kind of performance you want from it. An Autotrac two-speed transfer case lets you control traction and handling for different conditions, while front and rear skid plates help protect the underside of this Chevy Tahoe from obstacles on the trail. Red recovery hooks, heavy-duty air filter, external engine oil cooler, and auxiliary transmission oil cooler are all designed to help this model handle the stress of going off-road. It has large 20-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires. This trim also comes with leather-appointed seating and heated front seats. An available Off-Road Capability Package takes things even further with an Adaptive Air Ride suspension, electronic Limited-Slip Differential, and more to enhance your time on and off the road.
Which Chevy Tahoe Has What You’re Looking For?
Now, you’ve had a good look at each of the six trim levels available for the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and a sense of what they have to offer. If you’re looking to keep things simple, then the LS is a great choice, while the LT gives you some more options without going overboard. The RST is a good pick that adds some distinct styling to this SUV, while the Premier delivers a variety of impressive enhancements. For the most features available, the High Country can’t be beat, while the Z71 makes for a great off-road or adventure-ready SUV with impressive overall performance. Finally, keep in mind that the GMC Yukon gives you similar features with greater refinement; plus, if you want something even larger, then the Chevy Suburban is a bigger full-size SUV.
