For more than 40 years, the Toyota Camry has been one of the most popular and accessible cars on the road, providing drivers with a great sedan that can be relied on year after year. It’s certainly been through some changes over the decades, but the modern Camry still lives up to this impressive reputation, and it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a midsize sedan.
Once you start looking for a Toyota Camry for sale, however, you’ll quickly discover that you have four different trims available. That’s not altogether unusual, but trying to figure out how these trim levels differ at a quick glance can be a bit tricky. So today, I’m going to take you through the four trims offered by Toyota for the 2025 Camry to help you get a sense of what each has to offer, which should make it easier to figure out which one has what you’re looking for.
The 2025 Toyota Camry LE
The LE is the starting trim for the 2025 Toyota Camry, setting the stage for everything else, so it’s the perfect place to start if you’re unsure of what you’re looking for. The sleek and sporty Camry is powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that delivers 225 hp thanks to a hybrid power system that helps to boost both performance and fuel efficiency. This standard model comes with front-wheel drive (FWD) and has all-wheel drive (AWD) available, which is true for every Camry trim this year.
You get 16-inch wheels on the Camry LE along with daytime running lights, bi-LED projector low- and high-beam headlights, and LED combination taillights on this trim. There’s a standard black horizontal bar front grille, which looks nice, if not particularly exceptional, alongside heated power outside mirrors with integrated turn signals. Color-keyed exterior door handles look good, and you get a basic single exhaust, black window trimming, and similar details that all come together nicely.
Moving inside, standard features for the Camry LE include power door locks, a multi-function key fob with remote entry and trunk release functions, and push-button start. Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard in the 2025 Camry, along with fabric-trimmed seating featuring six-way manual front seats. The LE comes with a 7.0-inch Digital Gauge Cluster display, an 8.0-inch Toyota Multimedia screen, a six-speaker sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad.
In terms of safety, every Camry comes with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 to help protect you and others on the road. This suite includes a Pre-Collision System w/ Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and a Lane Departure Alert w/ Steering Assist. It also features Lane Tracing Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist. A Blind Spot Monitor is standard, which I love to see, along with a comprehensive airbag system—but some higher trims include options for more safety features, as we’ll see in a moment.
The 2025 Toyota Camry SE
Moving up from the LE, the SE is our second option and a good trim if you want some upgrades without going too far beyond the standard features. In terms of performance, the SE has the same engine with FWD standard and AWD available. One thing to note is that the SE comes with sport-tuned shock absorbers and springs for a smoother and more controlled ride. You’ll find larger 18-inch wheels on the SE trim, along with a black sport mesh front grille that I think looks bolder and more refined than the standard grille. Although this trim still has a single exhaust, it has dual chrome tips for an added touch of style, plus racing-inspired black air curtains and front-side canards for a more aggressive look.
Inside, the SE has many of the same features as the LE but with a few upgrades, such as SofTex- and fabric-trimmed seating and an eight-way power driver’s seat. A leather-trimmed steering wheel is standard in the SE, with paddle shifters to help keep you in control at all times, along with a leather-trimmed shift knob and aluminum sport pedals that help enhance your drive. Other than these improvements, you get a car much like the LE, so consider what you’re looking for in a Camry.
The 2025 Toyota Camry XLE
With the XLE trim, you’ll find a significant number of upgrades and improvements over the standard LE trim, so if you want a lot more luxury in your car, then this is a good one to check out. Performance is much the same here as the previous trims but with the same standard shocks and springs as the LE rather than the sport-tuned ones of the SE. On the outside, the XLE features dual LED projector headlights plus premium LED combination taillights for enhanced visibility at night and a sleek overall look. You get 18-inch two-tone wheels on the XLE, plus color-keyed outside door handles with touch-sensor lock/unlock functionality.
On the inside, we find a standard Smart Key system that’s available on the previous trims but not standard, providing remote keyless entry and remote illuminated entry, plus more functionality. You get heated front seats in the XLE, with leather- and microfiber-trimmed seating, eight-way power front seats, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. The 12.3-inch Digital Gauge Cluster looks absolutely stunning and makes it easy to keep track of relevant drive data; you also get an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a 12.3-inch Toyota Multimedia touchscreen. Enhanced safety tech is available as a package for the XLE, which you can’t get on the previous trims, but it isn’t standard.
The 2025 Toyota Camry XSE
If you like some of the unique features of the SE trim and the upgraded refinement of the XLE, then the XSE is likely the perfect Camry for you. This one comes with sport-tuned shock absorbers and springs for a smoother ride, along with stunning 19-inch wheels for a bold, dominant stance on the road. You get dual LED projector headlights and premium LED combination taillights on this trim, with a unique color-keyed sport mesh front grille that helps it pop. The XSE has exterior door handles with touch-sensor lock/unlock functionality, along with dual chrome tips on the exhaust, a color-keyed rear sport lower diffuser, racing-inspired gloss-black air curtains, color-keyed front side canards, and a black rear spoiler.
Inside, you get many of the same great features as the XLE, such as the Smart Key System, heated front seats, and the 12.3-inch Digital Gauge Cluster. This trim has leather-trimmed seats, eight-way power front seats, and a leather-trimmed heated steering wheel with paddle shifters and aluminum sport pedals. You’ll find the larger 12.3-inch Toyota Multimedia touchscreen here, and both the XSE and XLE have a nine-speaker JBL Premium sound system available. Advanced safety tech like a Panoramic View Monitor, Front and Rear Parking Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking are available here as part of a package—just like the XLE—but not standard.
Get the Camry You’ve Been Looking For
As you can see, some of the differences between the 2025 Toyota Camry’s trim levels can be pretty subtle, but there can also be some stark distinctions. One of the main things to consider is whether you want the extra sport tuning in the SE and XSE trims or if the standard performance of the LE and XLE works for you. Beyond that, keep in mind that the XLE and XSE trims give you a fair number of enhanced features inside and out, plus they offer more upgrades—like the JBL sound system and advanced safety tech—that you can’t get on the LE and SE trims.
You’ll have to decide what kind of driving experience is right for you, though taking a 2025 Camry for a test drive is likely the best way to feel the difference between the standard and sport-tuned options so you can find the one that’ll suit you best.
