Get to Know the Eight Trims of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler

Considering checking out a 2024 Jeep Wrangler for sale? This iconic off-road Jeep has been delivering open-air fun to thrill seekers and adventurers everywhere since 1986. With its removable doors and roof, incredibly tough frame, tires and bumpers, solid towing powers, and other enhancements, it’s ready to tackle all sorts of terrain, so if your life has very little concrete in the future and a lot more sand dunes and mud trails, you should definitely check out a 2024 Wrangler. The Wrangler is available in eight trims for the 2024 year, including the bitter-sweet (but ultimately awesome) Rubicon 392 Final Edition. Below, we’ll provide an overview of these eight fun personalities within the Wrangler family.

Sport

The Sport is a terrific starting trim that will more than satisfy those craving adventures off the grid. It enjoys the massive 12.3-inch touchscreen that you’ll get standard across the lineup. You can view your turn-by-turn navigation, playlists, and more on this massive screen. The Sport rolls on 17-inch fully painted black wheels and 32-inch all-season tires. With a part-time 4×4 system, it’s ready to get you great traction when the roads get slippery.

Under the hood, you’ll find a 3.6L V6 engine with start/stop functionality to boost fuel economy. That engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. With two front tow hooks and a rear one, the Sport is equipped with the parts you need to get pulled out of a sticky situation. The skid plates over the fuel tank, transmission, and transfer case will protect your undercarriage.

Sport S

Moving onto the Sport S, this model builds on the Sport. It has the same engine and transmission. However, it adds some fun features that make it ready for slightly rougher environments, like the Corning Gorilla Glass, which is scratch and dent-resistant and lightweight for better fuel efficiency.

A few other perks you’ll get in the Sport S are the power-heated mirrors that quickly melt away ice and frost, as well as automatic headlamps to improve visibility in low-light settings. On bright days, your passengers will enjoy the deep-tint sunscreen windows that keep the rays out. Drivers also benefit from the available ParkSense Rear Park-Assist System on this trim, which helps you avoid collisions and other incidents. A premium-wrapped steering wheel adds to the elevated look and feel of this trim.

Willys

Now we arrive at the Willys, which gets some more aggressive off-road features than the previous two trims. It has the same engine and transmission as the Sport and Sport S; however, it swaps out the all-season tires for 33-inch mud terrain tires, so it’s ready for some messier environments. Adding to the rugged capabilities is a locking rear differential, which can lock both wheels on an axle to send all of your vehicle’s available torque to the ground for maximum traction.

Sahara

The Sahara swaps out the V6 engine you’ve found up until this point in the lineup in favor of a 2.0L I-4 turbo engine. This will be the most fuel-efficient engine in the Wrangler family, seeing particularly better figures in the city compared to the other models. It has an 8-speed automatic transmission, too, which can also improve fuel economy compared to the 6-speed manual.

The Sahara goes back to the all-season tires you saw on those earlier trims. Meanwhile, it adds a remote vehicle start system, meaning you can turn on the climate control before getting into it. Another fun perk of this trim has to be the UConnect NAV system, which gets you access to trail guides for hundreds of trails around the country. Adding to that, the 7-inch Driver Information Digital Cluster Display shows you journey and vehicle stats, and the Sahara is quite adventure-ready.

Rubicon

This is where the Wrangler lineup gets its reputation for power and fun. The Rubicon is available with tons of add-ons that let you turn it into the exact off-road beast you’re after. For example, it has the available Xtreme 35 package, which adds 35-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires to help you command every type of surface, as well as beadlock-capable wheels and a reinforced rear swing gate. This package is available for all two-door Rubicon and Willys models.

This trim is also available with a WARN winch, helping a buddy get a really secure grip on your bumper to pull you out of tough spots. And it has available steel bumpers. What’s also really fun about this trim is that the Sky One-Touch Power Top becomes available, giving you an electric roof convertible experience that lets you put the top up or down at the press of a button while you’re driving. A few other perks show up on this trim, including a heavy-duty air filtration system, front and rear lockers, and an electronic sway bar disconnect.

Rubicon X

The Rubicon X builds on the Rubicon with some eye-catching style details, like an American flag decal, a Rubicon hood decal, and a trail-rated badge. So if you want to tackle tough terrain while turning heads, pull up in a Rubicon X. This trim is not all looks, though. It has winch-capable steel bumpers for improved recovery situations, and it gets a cool and fun-to-use TrailCam forward-facing off-road camera to help you see obstacles up ahead. On the inside, you’ll enjoy Nappa leather-trimmed seats with heated front seats.

Rubicon 392

This will be the final year for the 392, so snag one now while you have the chance. What really distinguishes the 392 from the other trims is its engine, which is a 6.4L HEMI V8 paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Jeep is slowly phasing out V8s across its vehicles, including this model, but you can still get one in the 2024 Wrangler. Also part of this trim is a Selec-trac full-time transfer case, a system that continuously monitors the torque sent to the front and rear wheels for optimal traction.

Rubicon 392 Final Edition

In honoring the end of the 392 era, Jeep created its Rubicon 392 Final Edition. It does, of course, have that HEMI V8. Then it adds a lot of striking details like a 392 Final Edition Center Hood Decal as well as 17-inch Bronze Beadlock-Capable wheels. You’ll also find a 392 Final Edition fender-vent decal. On the inside, you’ll see gorgeous 392 Final Edition Nappa leather seats as well as a unique medallion on the shift lever. This trim will have a standard fold-out table by Mopar, as well as roof options not available for the standard 392, like a Mopar mesh sunbonnet top and the Sky One-Touch power top.

Adventure Awaits With the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Lineup

Excited to check out the Wrangler yet? We thought you might be. Everyone is sad to see the 392 leaving the lineup, but at least you can still get it, plus that great Final Edition, for the 2024 model year. Throughout the lineup, though, you can find a really great variety of features and personalities. So wherever your off-road adventures take you and how you escape from the grid, there’s a Wrangler to help you do it.
