As a compact SUV, the Envision is a great choice for many people who want something small and stylish, with plenty of options for terrific features. If you are interested in a Buick Envision for sale, it is important that you consider the available options and make a few decisions to get everything you’ve been looking for. Let’s explore the details of this SUV and see what you should consider as you shop.
One Great Engine Is All You Need
There are plenty of excellent vehicles out there that offer a wide range of powertrains to help you decide what will work best for you. Sometimes I like seeing all of these options because it gives us tremendous freedom. However, there are also times when it’s nice to just see one good setup that works well and leaves nothing behind, which is what we find here.
Buick offers just one engine and performance setup for the 2026 Envision, and they’ve made sure it’s a good one. You get a 2.0L turbocharged I-4 engine that delivers 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, which is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. That’s plenty of power for a compact SUV like this, ensuring a responsive and speedy drive.
One other feature I really like about this setup is that every Envision comes with all-wheel drive (AWD), rather than making it an extra option. This means you get excellent traction and handling with the Envision, and it’s easy to keep in control even in rough weather. With an estimated 22 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway, this is also a terrific daily driver.
Three Trim Levels to Explore
Here’s where we get into the proverbial meat and potatoes of this SUV. While there’s just one engine and performance setup to look at, Buick gives you three different trim levels to choose from with the 2026 Envision. Your choice can have a tremendous impact on the features you get, so let’s take a good look at each and what they offer.
Preferred
The Preferred is our starting point for the Envision, and it sets the foundation for the other two models. Don’t think of this as a bare-bones standard model, though, because it has a lot to offer. There’s that engine and its AWD handling, of course, but much more too. Every model comes with an impressively long list of driver-assistance features, including Forward Collision Alert, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Reverse Automatic Braking, Rear Park Assist, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, and HD Surround Vision.
On the outside, you get 18-inch alloy wheels in Technical Gray with a machine finish, wrapped in all-season tires. LED headlamps are standard, with cornering functionality and country low-beam settings with adaptive controls. You get heated power side mirrors with memory settings, body-color door handles with chrome strips, and a manual rear liftgate.
Inside the Envision Preferred, we find a 30-inch ultrawide display across the front dashboard that’s easy to use and quite functional. A Bose premium nine-speaker sound system is standard, along with perforated leatherette seating, an eight-way power driver’s seat, and a six-way front-passenger seat. Even a head-up display projected onto the windshield is included.
Sport Touring
If you’re looking for stylish upgrades and a few nice enhancements without going overboard, the Sport Touring model is a great option. It’s a small step up from the standard Preferred trim in terms of cost, but you get quite a few nice features in return. The right choice for you simply depends on what you want in your next compact SUV.
On the outside, you’ll notice a number of differences, starting with larger 20-inch alloy wheels with a Carbon Flash Metallic and high gloss black design. These stand out, especially compared to the smaller wheels on the Preferred model. You get a Dark Gloss finish for the moldings on this model, rather than Bright on the other two, and no chrome strip on the handles.
Inside, the Sport Touring features perforated leather-appointed seating with ST embossing up front, giving it a distinct look. The flat-bottom, leather-wrapped steering wheel looks and feels great, and goes nicely with the alloy sport pedals down below. While the other two trims offer Ebony seats, only this one offers an option for dark-red Garnet seating.
Avenir
The pinnacle of what Buick offers for the Envision, the Avenir is the highest trim level and offers the most upgrades for this compact SUV. If you’re interested in the rich, dark-purple Midnight Opal exterior color, for example, then you’ll only find it here. Other details inside and out further enhance what Buick offers with this ride.
You get 20-inch wheels on the Avenir, like the Sport Touring, but these have a Pearl Nickel finish and a Sterling Silver center cap. The Avenir features a panoramic power moonroof, which I’m particularly fond of, and Bright exterior details that lighten it up like the Preferred model. You’ll also find a hands-free, power-programmable liftgate on the Avenir trim.
Inside, the Avenir’s perforated leather-appointed seating is undeniably welcoming, with eight-way power driver and front-passenger seats. These are heated and ventilated, for added comfort, with an optional massage feature for the driver’s seat. Dual-zone automatic climate control is a nice plus, even in a small SUV like this, and you can choose Cool Gray seating with Slate Blue accents to create a bright, airy cabin.
Extra Packages and Options
The packages available to you depend on which trim level you choose, since that affects what you get standard and what you can add on. Both the Preferred and Sport Touring models have a Comfort and Convenience package available that adds a few features that are otherwise exclusive to the Avenir, including a hands-free power programmable liftgate, heated driver and front-passenger seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, automatic cabin air recirculation, and a programmable universal home remote. All three models let you choose an Interior Protection package, which adds all-weather floor liners to the first and second rows, along with a rear cargo-area liner.
In addition to these packages, there are other options you can add to the lower trims if you’re interested. With the Preferred, for example, high-end features like the hands-free power programmable liftgate and panoramic power moonroof are both available extras. As we saw earlier, these are standard on the Avenir, along with other luxurious touches.
Realize Your Vision With the Buick Envision
As you can see, Buick offers plenty of options to get what you’re looking for without missing out or going overboard. There are plenty of models out there with half a dozen or more trim levels for you to choose from, which can be nice, but it also gets pretty overwhelming. The simplicity that Buick delivers in the Envision can make it easy to get just what you want.
In particular, I like that the standard features of the Preferred model are already quite impressive, especially the safety technology. With a few upgrades, like the Comfort and Convenience package, the Preferred model becomes just as nice as many other models out there. If you want a full luxury experience with the Envision, then the Avenir trim is hard to beat.
