Gas or Hybrid? You’ve Got Choices with the 2021 Honda Accord

Following the success of the Honda Civic in the early 1970s, Honda immediately set out to work on a larger sedan designed with families in mind. By 1977, the design was finalized, and the Accord made its debut, sealing Honda’s fate as a top-selling import brand in America. Over the last four decades, the Accord continued to revolutionize the industry by reflecting Honda’s commitment to innovation from safety and technology features to comfort, convenience and performance. This innovation is what you’ll find when you visit your local Honda Accord dealer and look at the newly redesigned 2021 Accord and the Accord Hybrid.

2021 Accord

Honda gives drivers plenty of choices with five available trims on the 2021 Accord. These options offer drivers a healthy range of features and pricing, beginning with the LX at $24,970 and culminating with the Touring 2.0T at $36,900. All trims come standard with the Honda Sensing safety and driver-assistance suite as well as connectivity tools like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Beyond that, each trim includes a progressive suite of features that ensure drivers can choose the best model for their lifestyle and driving needs.

LX

Priced at $24,790, the LX sits on 17-in alloy wheels and features automatic LED low-beam headlights, automatic high-beam headlights, and LED daytime running lights. A 1.5-liter VTEC turbocharged four-cylinder engine sits under the hood with a CVT transmission that offers Sport Mode, idle stop, and push-button start. The interior is designed with comfort and convenience in mind with an 8-in touchscreen display, a multi-angle rearview camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a fold-down rear seat that enhances the cargo space.

Sport and Sport Special Edition

Honda gives drivers a sportier alternative with the Accord Sport that starts at $27,430 and boasts bigger, 19-in alloy wheels. The Sport comes standard with the LX’s 1.5-liter engine, but drivers can upgrade to a 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine and 10-speed automatic transmission that adds a new level of luxury with heated front seats, a one-touch power moonroof, a power driver’s seat, smart entry, remote engine start, and a wireless phone charging station. The Sport also includes a leather shift knob and steering wheel, a rear spoiler, and chrome exhaust finishers for a more modern aesthetic.

The Sport Special Edition starts at $28,920 and comes with a 1.5-liter engine. It offers a leather-trimmed interior with heated front seats and heated exterior mirrors. It includes many of the same features as the Sport with special touches like LED fog lights and an Active Shutter Grille that gives it a unique exterior.

EX-L

The Accord EX-L starts at $31,290 and boasts the same 1.5-liter engine as the other models. It delivers even more technology and convenience features with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration as well as a wireless phone charging station. The EX-L also includes SiriusXM and HD radio with a 10-speaker premium audio system, leather interior, a one-touch power moonroof, and a power-adjustable front passenger seat. Its safety suite adds features like Honda’s Blind Spot Information System and Cross Traffic Monitor, as well as an automatic dimming rearview mirror to enhance visibility.

Touring 2.0T

The Accord Touring 2.0T is at the top of the line and starts at $36,900. Taking its name from its 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine, the Touring 2.0T has all of Honda’s latest features, including heated and ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charging station, rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic LED headlights, and interior ambient lighting. The trim also comes with a Head-Up Display, Low-Speed Braking Control, an Adaptive Damper System, and Honda’s satellite-linked navigation system that takes the guesswork out of traveling from point A to point B.

2021 Accord Hybrid

With the gas-powered Accord averaging 30 MPG in the city and 38 MPG on the highway, the 2021 Accord Hybrid takes that efficiency even further by delivering an astonishing 48 MPG both in the city and on the highway. This performance is centered on Honda’s two-motor hybrid powertrain and e-CVT transmission that delivers 212 horsepower and responsive handling. Drivers also have the option to customize the Accord Hybrid’s performance based on the driving environment using the Econ, Sport, or EV modes, the latter of which enables the hybrid to run only on the battery and electric motor.

Hybrid

Like the gas-powered Accord, the Accord Hybrid comes in several trim options beginning with the base Hybrid model that starts at $26,570. Sitting on 17-in alloy wheels, the model includes connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, an 8-in touchscreen display, and Bluetooth streaming audio. The interior is equipped with comfort and convenience features like push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, smart-entry, and remote engine start as well as a 60/40 split-folding rear seat that optimizes trunk space.

Hybrid EX

The Hybrid EX is all about connectivity with a starting MSRP of $30,520. Offering many of the same features as the Hybrid, the EX takes convenience to the next level with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a wireless phone charging station, Bluetooth Streaming Audio, and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink. The trim also includes additional safety features like a Blind Spot Information System that prevents potential collisions by alerting drivers to vehicles in the EX’s blind spots.

Hybrid EX-L

Starting at $32,890, the Hybrid EX-L is oozing with luxury and innovation. The EX-L offers a 10-speaker premium audio system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration that makes it easy for drivers to enjoy their favorite music at the touch of a button or with a simple voice command. The interior is leather-trimmed and includes driver’s seat memory for two driver positions, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, and a one-touch power moonroof. The exterior is equipped with parking sensors that alert the driver when they are nearing an object or another vehicle. Additional features include the HomeLink Remote System as well as an automatic-dimming rearview mirror.

Hybrid Touring

Sitting on larger 19-in alloy wheels, the Hybrid Touring is the highest-level trim available in the Accord Hybrid lineup. The model starts at $36,440 and offers Honda’s comprehensive suite of features like those found on the gas-powered Touring 2.0T. These features include everything from interior ambient lighting, heated and ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charging station to automatic headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and heated outboard rear seats.

The Touring also adds Low-Speed Braking Control and a Head-Up Display, the latter of which gives drivers an immediate view of speed, navigation directions, incoming calls, and safety warnings. The Low-Speed Braking Control is designed to prevent front or rear collisions. To do this, the tool applies brake pressure to help the driver bring the Honda to a full stop at low speeds when it senses a potential collision.
