Minivans might be something of a niche offering these days, but there’s no denying that they work well for large families. Compared to a three-row SUV, a minivan like the Chrysler Pacifica can provide more spacious seating and excellent interior functionality. The folks at Chrysler seem to understand this well, and they’ve given the 2027 Pacifica numerous updates and enhancements for drivers to enjoy. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest changes and improvements you’ll find on the 2027 model and see if it might be the right vehicle for you.
Revised Trim Lineup
One change with the Pacifica that can be easy to miss but is quite important is the trim lineup. There are four trim levels available for the 2027 Pacifica, and the differences between them can be significant. In particular, the starting trim could easily be mistaken for a completely different model, because it basically was. Here are the four trims:
- Pacifica LX: This entry-level trim is essentially the Chrysler Voyager, renamed and added to the Pacifica lineup. It serves as a starting point that still offers some nice features, but it doesn’t get any of the big upgrades for the 2027 model year. At $41,495, it’s what you’ll see in rental fleets and is worth a look if you’re on a tight budget.
- Pacifica Select: If you’re interested in the Pacifica’s updated features and options, this is the model you should start with. The Select is the entry point for the refreshed exterior and many other features. It starts at $44,545, which is not much of a jump from the LX for some nice upgrades.
- Pacifica Limited: The Limited is the middle ground between the previous option and the aptly named Pinnacle trim. Going with this model gets you some upgrades, but you miss out on a few luxurious exclusives to the top trim. At $49,705, the Limited feels like a way for Chrysler to have three options under $50,000, but only if you go with front-wheel drive.
- Pacifica Pinnacle: At the high end is the Pinnacle trim, which gets you pretty much everything this minivan has to offer. That includes exclusive features like the new Blue Agave Nappa leather interior and more refined interior details. Starting at $54,910, the Pinnacle is out of reach for plenty of families, but it makes for a luxurious minivan.
As you might expect, there are plenty of specific details that set these four trim levels apart, including included and available options. The price points will likely guide many decisions about which model to get, especially if you have a big family and a tight budget. I’ve seen folks point to the Select as a great overall value and choice, and I’d have to agree.
Refreshed Exterior Styling
The first thing you’ll likely notice about the 2027 Pacifica is how Chrysler’s engineers and designers have refreshed its exterior. In particular, the front fascia has been almost completely revised, featuring sweeping curves and a sleek design. Front and center, you’ll see an illuminated new version of Chrysler’s wing badge, which stands out quite nicely.
The Limited and Pinnacle models feature animated wake-up lighting that starts with this new wing badge and extends from there. The front grille is flanked by piano-key accent lighting, creating a striking overall design. Chrysler has described the new look as a “road map for the look and feel of future” vehicles, so you can expect more models to use similar lighting.

Impressive Exterior Functionality
The outside of the new Pacifica looks better than before, and you’ll find a number of nice features that also make it quite functional. A new adjustable-height power liftgate, for example, is now standard on all models, even the starting LX trim. You can set the height you prefer for this liftgate to keep it from hitting the ceiling of your garage and other structures.
An aerodynamic design means the Pacifica experiences minimal turbulence even on the highway, making it easier to drive than you might expect given its large profile. Triple door seals help keep you and your passengers comfortable, and acoustic glass for the windshield and front-side windows helps block outside noise.
New Safety Technology
Few things are more important to me when looking at a vehicle than its safety features. Nothing else really matters if it cannot protect you on the road. Chrysler delivers an impressive number of safety features with the 2027 Pacifica, including two new options:
- Turn Signal-activated Blind-spot View: When you activate your turn signal, the center touchscreen provides a live camera view of the adjacent lane behind your vehicle. This makes it easier to see if someone is in your blind spot and avoid merging into them.
- ParkSense-based Camera Activation: When the ParkSense sensors detect an object, such as something you can’t see while backing up, an appropriate camera view will automatically display so you can see what triggered the ParkSense system.
Along with these two new features, you’ll find plenty of returning favorites, such as front/rear park assist and a 360-degree surround-view camera. These are part of the Safety Sphere Package for the Pacifica, available for the Select and Limited models and standard on the Pinnacle.
Refined Interior Tech and Features
Chrysler is making it easier to get the features you specifically want for the 2027 Pacifica by splitting the previous Uconnect Theater Group into two new options. This lets you choose what you want rather than getting things you might not care about:
Family Tech Group
- Upgraded audio system
- Uconnect 5 NAV with a 10.1-inch display
- Eight-way power front-passenger seat
- FamCAM interior camera to view the rear seats
Theater Group
- Dual rear-seat 10-inch HD touchscreens
- Amazon Fire TV built-in
- Multi-channel remote control
- Integrated media inputs for in-cabin entertainment
These two packages let you easily choose what you want inside your vehicle. For example, you can now get upgraded features up front without the rear-seat displays. I much prefer this over the previous bundle, since anything that gives us more control over what we get is a perk.

Stow ‘n Go Seating Returns
The 2027 Pacifica isn’t just about what’s new and fancy. Plenty of features we’ve come to expect from Chrysler make a return for this year. Stow ‘n Go seating, for example, continues to be one of the most popular features you’ll find on this minivan. First introduced for the 2005 model year, this gives you added cargo space by letting seats just about disappear.
Both the second- and third-row seats can fold down and get tucked into the floor of the Pacifica’s cabin. This creates a flat load surface with more than 140 cu.ft. of cargo space, so you can load a ton of stuff into this minivan if you don’t have many passengers with you. When the seats are upright, under-floor bins provide additional storage for your stuff.
Is the Chrysler Pacifica Right for You?
Overall, you can see that Chrysler is making some good moves with the 2027 Pacifica, delivering new looks and innovations for its popular minivan. The only real downside is that this isn’t a full redesign, and it still uses the decade-old 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. With the retirement of the plug-in hybrid Pacifica, I hope we’ll see a new option with an improved hybrid engine at some point in the future. Until then, the 2027 upgrades make this a fine pick if you have a big family.
