The all-new 2025 Ram 1500 is seeing some serious changes to its design, powertrain options, trim levels, and feature sets, so it might seem overwhelming to walk through a Ram dealer with your eyelids peeled back, inundated with and bewildered by the diversity of configurations. In that respect, we wanted to provide a buyer’s guide to point out what each trim will get you, what packages are available, and how your choices will impact your search for the right Ram 1500 with all the right features.
The Trims of the 2025 Ram 1500
There are a total of ten trims for the 2025 model year, including entry-level work truck trims, mid-tier trims for cushy daily driving, and all-new luxury and off-road trims for serious truck enthusiasts. Two of these are new to the lineup—the off-road RHO and the luxury Tungsten—which make the Ram 1500 even more competitive with its rivals’ luxury trucks. You will definitely want to check with your dealer about their prices, but the manufacturer-set prices (MSRPs) for these trims are as follows:
- Tradesman – $40,275
- Tradesman HFE – $41,060
- Big Horn – $45,180
- Warlock – $51,810
- Laramie – $60,030
- Rebel – $64,440
- RHO – $69,995
- Limited – $75,450
- Limited Longhorn – $76,445
- Tungsten – $87,320
There are several packages available for each trim, including the base Tradesman. You can alter your Ram 1500’s veneer with the Night Edition, which includes black badging, accents, and grille badge, LED fog lamps, and a black-tipped dual exhaust. There is also the Chrome Appearance package, which grants chrome accents, surround, bumpers, and bezels, and a Sports Appearance package featuring body-color accents.
Other utilitarian packages are also available, such as the Towing Technology and the Bed Utility Group, the latter of which adds extra tie-downs, a spray-on bedliner, and pickup box lighting. Select trims like the Laramie also have special editions available, like the Laramie Southwest Edition, if you want to personalize it further. Just keep in mind that the Tradesman HFE is unable to be outfitted with packages, so you get it as is, for better or for worse.
Power and Fuel Efficiency
The powertrain overhaul for the 2025 Ram 1500 sees the classic HEMI V8s replaced with turbocharged “Hurricane” V6s, available in either rear- or four-wheel drive. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 returns as the base powertrain for the lower trims; it’s a mild hybrid that grants 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The Pentastar V6 manages 20 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway in four-wheel drive or 20 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway in rear-wheel drive. It has a max towing capacity of 8,110 lbs and a max payload capacity of 2,370 lbs.
The new mid-range engine is the 3.0-liter Hurricane turbocharged inline six-cylinder, which gets 420 hp and 469 lb-ft of torque. It manages 17 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway in four-wheel drive or 18 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway in rear-wheel drive. Your towing limit tops out at 11,550 lbs and your payload limit tops out at 1,980 lbs. The ultimate powertrain for the 2025 Ram 1500 is the 3.0-liter Hurricane High-Output turbocharged inline six-cylinder, which gets 540 hp and 521 lb-ft of torque. It’s only available for the RHO trim and in four-wheel drive, and it manages 15 MPG in the city and 21 MPG on the highway. It tops out at 9,920 lbs of towing and 1,520 lbs of payload.
If you’re shopping for a light-duty pickup truck that has great range, then the Pentastar V6 is the way to go; you get decent towing and payload capacity with the best range possible. If you want the best towing capacity and decent payload with moderate fuel economy, the 3.0-liter Hurricane is what you should aim for; it’s the most rounded option for power, utility, and range. Obviously, the RHO trim’s Hurricane High-Output is a beast for high-performance off-roading, but at the expense of both fuel economy and capability.
Cab, Bed, and Color Options
There are eight exterior colors available, including Bright White clear coat, Flame Red clear coat, Delmonico Red pearl coat, Ivory White Tri-Coat pearl coat, Diamond Black Crystal pearl coat, Hydro Blue pearl coat, Billet Silver Metallic clear coat, and Forged Blue Metallic. Keep in mind that, other than Bright White and Flame Red, every other color is a premium color that will cost extra to apply to the truck. Also note that the Limited Longhorn, Limited, and Tungsten only have access to six of these eight colors.
You can get the Ram 1500 in a Quad Cab or Crew Cab format, both of which seat up to five people. The Quad Cab features two doors and two half doors, while the Crew Cab has four full-size doors. The 2025 Ram 1500 can also be configured in two different bed sizes: a five-foot, seven-inch short box and a six-foot, four-inch standard box. Certain trims are locked to certain configurations; for instance, the Tradesman HFE is only available in Quad Cab, rear-wheel drive, and a standard box, while the Rebel, RHO, and Tungsten are only available in Crew Cab, a short box, and four-wheel drive. It’s worth considering if you’ll need your truck for daily driving or would prefer a truck designated for work.
Every trim is also available with the side-swinging Multifunction tailgate and the Tow Technology Group package (which has hitch alignment and helpful camera views). Your front seats are available in either cloth or leather, but every trim other than the Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, and Rebel defaults to leather. The Tungsten, in particular, features 24-way power front seats with memory settings and massage functionality, as well as Natura Plus leather upholstery.
As far as wheel options are concerned, you have utilitarian choices for the Tradesman and Tradesman HFE, and some pedestrian wheel options for the Big Horn. However, the Laramie, Limited, Limited Longhorn, and Tungsten have a fancier set of options available in the 20- to 22-inch variety. The top-tier Tungsten also comes with a body-color front fascia, body-color bumpers, and a center console badge for the VIN.
Infotainment and Safety Tech
There is an all-new infotainment tech stack featuring up to 50 cumulative inches of digital screen real estate powered by the Uconnect 5 system. The base trims offer a 12-inch HD touchscreen, while higher trims come with a 14-inch HD touchscreen. The Ram 1500 has a segment-defining 10.25-inch front touchscreen display and an accompanying 12-inch digital driver display. The infotainment stack features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as apps for your cameras, trailering, telemetry, and media. The top-tier Tungsten has a Klipsch Reference Premiere surround sound system with 23 speakers, a subwoofer, and a 1,228-watt amplifier.
The Ram 1500 also has additional navigational support and more than a hundred available safety features, some of which include evasive steering assist, forward collision warning, the automated ParkSense, and collision detection. There is also traffic sign recognition, which comes standard, along with the new Drowsy Driver Detection tool. One of the newest features of the 2025 Ram 1500 is a semi-autonomous hands-free driving tool, though it’s only available for those who subscribe to Ram Connect.
