Everyone knows that Ford SUVs are some of the best on the market. Luckily, Ford is doing something super cool. They are bringing the Bronco back! That’s right. The new 2021 Ford Bronco is set to be the new king of the roads. As of now, Bronco models are scheduled to start arriving on dealership lots in Spring 2021. They will be offered in two body styles. The smaller two-door model will start at $28,500, and the larger four-door model will start at $33,200. Everything about this reincarnated SUV is exciting, but today we will count down the top 10 coolest features on the 2021 Ford Bronco. Let’s get started!
#10 – It Has Plenty of Off-Roading Features!
The new 2021 Ford Bronco was brought back to life to directly compete against the Jeep Wrangler, and it does just that. Capable of extreme off-roading, the Bronco was designed with 11.6-inches of ground clearance to travel over rough terrain with no problem. The semi-active, disconnecting front sway bar is also used for traveling over jagged rocks. It helps with wheel articulation so that the vehicle doesn’t flip over. Underneath the Bronco is a strong bash plate, which is similar to a skid plate. The difference is that it is a lot stronger than the average skid plate.
#9 – It is Amphibious!
The advantage that the Jeep Wrangler has had over its competitors in recent years is that it can drive through streams and rivers. Well, it is no longer the only SUV that can do that! The 2021 Ford Bronco is also capable of water travel in streams and rivers up to 33-inches deep. That beats the Wrangler’s ability to dredge water by about 30-inches! The Bronco’s engine compartment is water-tight so that no moisture can seep in and damage the motor. This incredible feature will allow you to take your Ford SUV to places that most other vehicles couldn’t even dream of getting to.
#8 – It’s Water-Resistant!
Taking things a step further, the interior elements of the Ford Bronco are water-resistant. The seats are covered in marine-grade vinyl upholstery that can handle getting wet. It will not warp, crack, mold, or take on any sort of nasty odor due to water. Also, with rubber flooring, the Bronco’s cabin is very easy to clean. All you have to do is hose it out. Removable drain plugs are located throughout the inside of the vehicle to let the water run out easily. You don’t have to bother with expensive carpet cleaners or special upholstery treatments anymore. Oh, and did we mention that all of the buttons, knobs, and switches are rubber? They are even sealed with silicone to ensure that no droplets of water get into the electrical system.
#7 – It Can Be Taken Apart!
Removing the doors and the roof used to be exclusive to the Jeep Wrangler. However, the 2021 Ford Bronco is also equipped with a removable roof and doors. If you are the type of person who loves to bring nature inside, then this is a great feature for you. Please keep in mind that the roof style depends on the body style. For example, the two-door Bronco models come with a hardtop, and the four-door models feature a soft top. Both can be removed and stored for a fun experience in the wild.
#6 – You Can Choose a Powertrain!
With two powertrain options to choose from, you can pick which Bronco is best suited to your driving needs. First, a 2.3-liter Ecoboost 4-cylinder motor is the focus of the standard powertrain. You can opt for a 10-speed automatic transmission or the class-exclusive 7-speed manual transmission. Since there aren’t many vehicles made with a manual transmission these days, this is a very cool option for folks who like feeling the vehicle shift gears. The base powertrain pushes out 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque (best-in-class).
The other powertrain option is centered around a larger 2.7-liter Ecoboost V6 engine. Producing 310 hp (best-in-class) and 400 lb-ft of torque, this one can be paired with either transmission as well. Please note that the maximum towing limit for the 2021 Ford Bronco is capped at 3,500 pounds.
#5 – You Can Opt for the Sasquatch Package!
Another very cool feature that is available on the 2021 Ford Bronco is the Sasquatch Package. This off-roading enhancement adds electronic-locking to the front and rear axles for better control. It also comes with front and rear locking differentials, trailer control, 17-wheels, and 35-inch tires. Optimized for the ultimate level of performance, you can conquer the world in this beast!
#4 – It Has a New Tailgate!
Not only is the Bronco an SUV, but it can also serve as a truck. Its tailgate and spare tire are equipped similarly to the Jeep Wrangler. That means that the tailgate is hinged to the vehicle on the passenger side instead of the rear. This allows the tailgate to swing out instead of old down. Furthermore, the Bronco also has the option to slide-out the tailgate. This is an adaptation that the Wrangler does not have. It’s a double-acting tailgate, and you can control which way you want it to open.
#3 – It Has a New Terrain Management System!
If you are looking for a vehicle that can take you anywhere, the 2021 Ford Bronco is your best bet. Featuring the GOAT terrain management system, it has never been easier to travel in the great outdoors. As a clever acronym, GOAT stands for “Goes Over ANY Type of Terrain.” It has selectable driving modes that you can choose depending on the road or trail conditions. You may select from the following, hill-descent control, trail control, rock crawl, or Baja.
#2 – It Is Highly Customizable!
Available with over 200 unique accessories, you can customize your new Ford Bronco to match your needs exactly. Some of the changes you can make include fender flare style, door panels, trail sights, roof rails, and so much more. If you don’t know what trail sights are, they are points for cables to run up to the roof and prevent tree branches from scratching the top of the Bronco. This is a great add-on if you plan on frequently visiting the wild.
#1 – It Comes with Amazing Standard Features
Available in seven unique trim levels, the base model comes well-equipped with a 6-speaker stereo, satellite radio, FordPass Connect, 911 Assist, and the Sync 4 infotainment system. If you want some safety features, you can step up to the Big Bend model. It adds emergency braking, pre-collision assist, and push-button start technology. If you want the aforementioned water-resistant interior, then you will need to get the Black Diamond trim.
Once you step up to the Outer Banks model, you will get more luxurious features like a 12-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and leather upholstery. For the ultimate off-roading experience, the Badlands is the vehicle to get. If you want those off-raiding features plus some advanced safety systems, the Wildtrak comes with the Sasquatch Package, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and blindspot monitoring. Lastly, the First Edition trim gets unique badging on the exterior.
