2020 Chevy Impala: Sporty, Spacious and Sophisticated

Everybody loves a luxury vehicle, but few of us enjoy paying the price that luxury often entails. Unless you are living on an expense account, affording luxury is not an easy task. This is where the 2020 Chevy Impala comes in. Chevrolet has figured out how to produce a luxury sedan that is not just affordable, but doesn’t force you to compromise. The 2020 Chevy Impala is sporty, spacious, and sophisticated, a vehicle that you will not only enjoy driving, but will also turn heads as you cruise to work or a night on the town.

With it’s sleek and modern lines that tie it to the classic Impala while having a look toward the future. Its aerodynamic design also helps improve performance and fuel economy. The interior features premium chrome and wood grain accents that will stun you with their beauty. With a base MSRP of $31,620, the Impala is priced so that it won’t bust your budget while delivering an aspirational vehicle to rival more expensive large sedans from Chevy’s competitors. And with two models to choose from, there is a Chevy Impala for any driver who values drivability, safety, and sophistication in their sedan.

Two Trims to Choose From

The 2020 Chevy Impala comes in two trims: the LT, with an MSRP of $31,620, and the Premier, with an MSRP of $36,720. The key difference is that the Premier makes a number of safety features as standard, and adds a Bose center point surround stereo system and navigation on the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. This is an infotainment system that is one of the best on the market, and combines entertainment and information features on a convenient, user-friendly 8-inch color touchscreen. Drivers will enjoy turning their Impala into a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, with Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, and either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

The 2020 Chevy Impala allows you and your passengers to stay connected wherever you go. In addition, each Impala comes with a free trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio. With so many stations to choose from, if you are like me, you will quickly become addicted to the fun and ease of SiriusXM radio. The Impala LT also comes with a 6-speaker audio system. This infotainment system is something that other automakers include only on their premium trim levels but is standard on all 2020 Chevy Impala models. This is part of Chevrolet’s plan to turn luxury and exclusivity into something for everyone. Its placement at the top of the dashboard between the two front seats makes it one of the most easily accessible infotainment touchscreens, allowing you to access it while you drive without affecting your control of the car.

Engine and Performance

Front-wheel drive is standard on the 2020 Chevy Impala. Each trim comes equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission. This engine has been rated to produce up to 305 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. This is one powerful and efficient engine. The EPA has estimated that drivers of the Impala LT should get 19 miles per gallon in city driving and 28 miles per gallon in highway driving, while the Impala Premier has been rated to produce 18 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg highway.

The 111.7-inch wheelbase makes the Impala one of the most maneuverable cars in its large sedan class. This gives the Impala a 19.26-foot turning radius, making it easy for you to get into even the tightest spot in the parking lot.

The Impala Impresses With Exceptional Roominess

The engineers at Chevrolet have designed the 2020 Chevy Impala with a goal of maximizing the space. The trunk compartment alone can hold up to 18.8 cubic feet of cargo. This will be especially helpful if you plan on taking your Impala on a long family road trip, or if you use your Impala for business, and need space for things like samples and displays. You will find the same roominess in the passenger compartment, at 105 cubic feet for the Impala’s five passengers to share. The interior layout will give you and your four passengers plenty of space.

The two front row passengers will enjoy 39.9 inches of headroom, 45.8 inches of legroom, 57.9 inches of shoulder room, and 54.9 inches of hip room. If you have kids like I do, you won’t have to worry about them jostling each other for space in the rear seat, distracting you while you drive. Each of the three rear seat passengers will have a spacious 37.4 inches of headroom, 39.8 inches of legroom, 56.9 inches of shoulder room, and 54.1 inches of hip room. It is truly amazing how Chevrolet could make a car with such sporty lines also have this much room for so many people.

Standard Safety Features in a Sophisticated Layout

Chevrolet has made safety priority number one on all of its vehicles, and the 2020 Impala is no exception. This is why the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2020 Chevy Impala a 5-star overall vehicle score under its New Car Assessment Program.

All 2020 Chevy Impala sedans come equipped with 4-wheel antilock disc brakes, electronic traction control, hill start assist, StabiliTrak electronic stability control with traction control, LED daytime running lamps, 10 airbags, and a rear vision camera. Each Impala is also equipped with Chevy’s Brake Assist Panic system, which helps you come to a stop more quickly in the event of an emergency. This is because Brake Assist increases the pressure on the brakes to stop the car as quickly as possible. Finally, all Impalas are Chevrolet Connected Access capable and participate in the award winning OnStar system, providing drivers with peace of mind in the event of a collision.

The Chevy Impala Premier has a number of additional standard safety features that are also available as upgrades on the Impala LT. These include Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, which can help you avoid lane change crashes by providing side mirror alerts when the system detects a moving vehicle in your blind spot. Rear Cross Traffic Alert will detect any left or right cross traffic behind your vehicle while you are in reverse. This is especially helpful when you are backing up out of a crowded parking lot or a driveway with side obstructions.

Rear Park Assist helps you back your car into a parking space without the risk of crashing into a car or object on either side of your vehicle. These advances show that Chevrolet is on the cutting edge of safety technology, and puts the safety of its customers and their passengers first.

A Sporty Sedan With a Racy Paint Job

One of the hardest jobs you are going to have when buying your 2020 Chevy Impala is choosing a color to compliment your new car. Do you want to look cool in Silver Ice Metallic? How about keeping things mysterious in your classic black Impala? Maybe you want to reach for the heights with Summit White? If those aren’t enough choices for you, Chevrolet offers two additional colors for an upgrade. You can look hot in Cajun Red Tintcoat. Iridescent Pearl Tricoat will make your Impala look like a precious jewel of a car. Whichever color you choose, I am sure you will turn heads wherever you go.

The 2020 Chevy Impala is built to combine sportiness, luxury, and safety into one package, and it is one package that will truly deliver on its promise.
