The 2025 Ford Maverick has an exciting trim lineup to ensure you get what you need most out of your pickup truck—and new for this year, Ford has added another trim: the Lobo. All five trims offer unique features, so there’s surely a Ford Maverick for sale that will work with every budget.
From a light-duty daily driver to a drifting street performer to an off-road monster, the Maverick has something for everyone at an affordable price. As we dive deeper into the details of each trim level, it’s easy to say that Ford may have granted that wish, given the variety of drivers these trims appeal to! Let’s check out these five trims in greater detail…
The 2025 Maverick XL: Base But Not Basic
Buying the Maverick XL will get you an economical and efficient truck you can use for your lighter-duty needs and active lifestyle. Coming standard with the 2.5-liter hybrid I-4 engine paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), you’ll be excited by its incredible fuel economy figures, getting an EPA-estimated 42 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.
A great perk of the hybrid engine is spending more time getting to where you want to go rather than standing at a gas pump. The XL comes in front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available; this is the same if you get the available non-hybrid configuration. For more pulling power, the available 2.0-liter EcoBoost Turbo I-4 engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Comfortable cloth seats, USB chargers throughout, clever interior and exterior storage, seating for five adults, and Ford’s SYNC 4 infotainment interface with smartphone integration and connectivity contribute to making this a simple, user-friendly, and capable entry-level compact truck. A towing package is available for the XL, as well, to make it equipped to pull its max capacity of 4,000 lbs.
This trim’s driver assistance features include a rearview camera, automatic high beams, pre-collision alert, and automatic emergency braking; available are lane departure alert, lane-centering, and lane-keeping aid. These features enhance confidence on the road; meanwhile, passive safety features—like airbags, LATCH hookups for child seats, and anti-lock disc brakes—boost your confidence further. Given that this is the Maverick’s entry-level trim, you can expect to see these safety and driver assistance features on every subsequent trim, too.
The 2025 Maverick XLT: A Major Step Up
Moving up the trim levels, the XLT comes standard with the hybrid engine in front-wheel drive; it also has the same boost available with the turbocharged engine and automatic transmission, as well as all-wheel drive for either powertrain configuration. A 2,000-lb towing capacity and convenient 4-pin connector for trailer lights come standard on the XLT, including extra tie-downs and more thoughtful storage in the bed with the Flexbed Storage System.
A few more comfort and convenience features for everyday driving are available, such as a power moonroof, heated front seats and steering wheel, and LED bed lighting. An additional driver assistance feature is available here: Hill Descent Control provides better control while going downhill, even while towing.
More packages are available for the XLT, including the FX4 Off-Road Package, a Black Appearance Package for a sleek exterior look, an upgraded tow package to haul up to 4,000 lbs, and the XLT Luxury Package, which upgrades interior materials and adds power heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and remote start.
The 2025 Maverick Lobo: Unleash the Beast
New for 2025, the Lobo is the Maverick’s most exciting option. Built to capture that street-power look and offer the performance to back it up, the Lobo is for the family that likes to head the local trail as much as it does race down open roads. Under the hood, the Lobo packs the 2.0-liter EcoBoost Turbo I-4 with Advanced 4WD and a seven-speed Quick Shift transmission. Enhancing the steering and braking systems and putting the whole thing on performance-tuned suspension, the Lobo delivers when it’s time to let the wolf out of the cage.
When its exclusive Lobo Mode is engaged, get ready for enhanced cornering and handling designed to perform on closed courses. By reducing stability control intervention and activating more torque vectoring, Lobo Mode is intended to give drivers an autocross experience and drifting abilities for ultimate street performance fun.
Lowered for a more aggressive stance on incredibly unique machined wheels that add a pop to its look, the Lobo is a head-turner. The interior has ActiveX upholstery with bright accent stitching offered in two different colors, boosting its style. The front fascia focal point is the distinctive wavy grille creased to meet the front bumper. The Lobo comes standard with the 2,000-lb towing capability and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system. Other packages are not available for this street-tuned beast due to its specificity for performance and drifting.
The 2025 Maverick Lariat: Luxury in Motion
Welcome to the land of luxury—affordable luxury, that is! The Lariat comes standard with all the bells and whistles regarding comfort, driver assistance, and tech connectivity. The standard powertrain is the 2.5-liter hybrid I-4 with a CVT, though there is also the available 2.0-liter EcoBoost Turbo I-4 and eight-speed transmission. The Lariat is only available with all-wheel drive, which means you get this truck’s best tuning for traction right away.
Inside, the seats are wrapped in ActiveX upholstery, and the front seats and steering wheel are powered and heated. Dual-zone climate control comes standard, as well as the upgraded eight-speaker B&O sound system. The Lariat has a 360-degree surround-view camera you can use with the infotainment touchscreen.
Pro Trailering comes standard as well, providing a rear-facing camera to help guide drivers to the trailer hookup; this is aided by a backup assist feature that lets drivers use a knob on the dash to finely control the direction of reversing toward a trailer hitch. You can upgrade your towing capacity to 4,000 lbs, of course, and the Black Appearance Package is available to kick this already stylish and modern truck up a notch.
The 2025 Maverick Tremor: Get Off the Map
The final trim for the 2025 Maverick is the Tremor. Sitting up higher with a factory lift on an off-road-tuned suspension, shocks, and springs, as well as above protective off-road-graded skid plates, the Tremor is ready to take you to the out-of-reach places on your map. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost Turbo I-4 engine comes with Advanced 4WD and the eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering the power you need in the backcountry.
With an upgraded interior similar to the Lariat and an aggressive exterior style accented with flares of orange, the Tremor also comes standard ready to tow with those Pro Trailer features. Off-roading and towing performance meet luxury when you get the Tremor trim.
