The Impressive New 2021 Ford SUV Lineup

There isn’t another lineup out there that can compare to the style and appeal of Ford SUVs. Loaded with the best features for families and adventurers alike, the 2021 SUV model updates from Ford will leave you smiling. Old favorites are making a comeback, and all-new models will be present to shake things up a bit. So, without further ado, let’s explore the new lineup of 2021 Ford SUVs.

2021 Ford Bronco

First on the list is the new 2021 Ford Bronco. Available in two and four-door body styles, this particular model was designed to compete directly against the Jeep Wrangler. The two-door model has a starting price of $28,500, and the four-door model starts at $33,200. With over 200 available accessories and the ability to remove the roof and doors, this is the most customizable vehicle that Ford has ever created.

There are two powertrain options starting with the 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, this powertrain produces 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. You should also note that it can be equipped with a 7-speed manual transmission if you prefer having a little more control. The other powertrain option is a more robust 2.7-liter V6 motor coupled with the same transmission options. Generating 310 hp (best-in-class) and 400 lb-ft of torque, this engine can haul up to 3,500 pounds with the appropriate equipment.

The coolest part of having a 2021 Ford Bronco is its off-roading capabilities. Featuring higher air intakes and a water-sealed engine compartment, it can travel through streams and rivers with water as deep as 33.5-inches. That’s actually better than the Jeep Wrangler’s 30-inch limit. Furthermore, the Bronco can be covered with marine-grade vinyl upholstery making the interior water-proof as well.

2021 Ford Bronco Sport

Another option in the new lineup of Ford SUVs is the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. Starting at $26,660, this model features a 4×4 drivetrain and seating for five. With the new Terrain Management System with G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) Modes, you can go pretty much anywhere with this outdoorsy ride. It even comes with a 180-degree camera and trail control for optimized off-roading. This class-exclusive feature allows you to choose your desired speed while off-roading. This will not only keep the vehicle in motion, but it also allows you to enjoy the adventure at hand. You can even use the split-view camera as a spotter while you are rock crawling or traveling through the mud.

For top-notch entertainment no matter where you go, the available Sync 3 infotainment system comes with Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling and text messaging. Compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also included with this advanced system for seamless audio and app integration. The B&O stereo system delivers high-quality sound, and the wireless charging pad helps keep the cabin clear of clutter.

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

As the world’s first-ever fully-electric Mustang, the 2021 Ford Mach-E is turning heads everywhere it goes. Powered by a state-of-the-art electric engine, it produces up to 346 hp and a max of 428 lb-ft of torque. These numbers are expected to be even higher on the GT and GT Performance models. Using an AWD system, there are two battery sizes that this model can be equipped with. First is the 75.7-kWh lithium-ion battery pack with 288 cells. The second is the 98.8 kWh extended-range lithium-ion battery pack with 376 cells. The larger one will give you a driving range of 300 miles, which is practically unheard of until now.

Featuring the coveted Ford Co-Pilot 360 suite of safety features and the brand new Sync 4A infotainment system, you’ll be hard-pressed to another SUV out there that can even hold a candle to this spectacular ride. With available seating for five people, it offers 28 cubic feet of space behind the back row. If you need more room, fold down the seats to reveal a maximum cargo area of 59.7 cubic feet. Also, there is a hidden front truck where the engine traditionally goes. Since it’s an electric ride, that space has been freed up to suit your cargo needs. It comes with a water-proof lining so that you can store wet or muddy items without worry.

Returning Ford SUVs for 2021

The popular Ford Escape is making a comeback, starting at an estimated $26,000. However, there is something new coming to this model. It will now be available as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid. So, technically, you have four powertrain options now. First is the 1.5-liter 3-cylinder motor that produces 181 hp, and then you also have the turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 250 hp. Both hybrid versions use a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine mated with two electric motors. The difference is that plug-in hybrid uses a rechargeable battery to give you a 37-mile driving range without using any fuel.

Another famous SUV that is coming back fully redesigned is the 2021 Ford Explorer. This model will also be available as a hybrid. Starting at an estimated $33,470, this mid-size crossover is quite impressive. There are two conventional powertrain choices, including a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder that produces 300 hp and a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 that pumps out 365 hp.

With the ability to tow up to 5,600 pounds, this is the perfect option for folks who aren’t ready to invest in a hybrid just yet. However, the 2021 Ford Explorer Hybrid uses the gasoline-powered V6 engine along with a hybrid system and the same 10-speed automatic transmission. You can choose between FWD or AWD, and the output for this eco-friendly model is 318 hp and 322 lb-ft of torque. Not too shabby.

If you are searching for a compact crossover that is more affordable, then the 2021 Ford Ecosport may be exactly what you want. Starting at an estimated $21,240, this petite SUV offers seating for five. The standard powertrain is a turbocharged 3-cylinder motor that produces 123 hp, and the optional 4-cylinder engine makes 166 hp. The smaller engine can pull 1,400 pounds, and the larger one can handle up to 2,000 pounds. While this model might not be offered as a hybrid, it does come with some advanced features such as the Sync 3 infotainment system, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an 8-inch touchscreen interface. You can also add advanced safety features like rear cross-traffic alert, blindspot monitoring, and rear parking sensors.

The last model we will cover in the new lineup of Ford SUVs is the 2021 Ford Expedition. This full-size SUV is perfect for large families with seating for eight and an estimated starting price of about $51,690. Every new Expedition is powered by a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 motor that produces 375 hp on most trims and 400 hp on the Platinum trim. This vehicle can tow up to 9,300 pounds. It even comes with automatic emergency braking and a 4G LTE Wifi hotspot.
