The 2023 Toyota Sequoia: The Perfect Fit for Families

Buying a vehicle that is good for every family member can be a real challenge. There’s not a lot of vehicles that can please everybody on your team. However, there are some superstar vehicles that meet everybody’s needs and then some. One of these amazing vehicles that are saving moms and dads from arguing over what vehicle is the best pick is the 2023 Toyota Sequoia. As one of the newest releases of the 2023 lineup, the Sequoias are offering features that please moms, dads, and kids across the nation.

A Full-Size SUV Designed for Families

The first pro in the Sequoia’s corner is that it is a full-size SUV, meaning it comfortably sits up to eight people. For larger families, the additional seat over a compact SUV is the difference between taking two vehicles for the whole family to go on one trip together. For smaller, pet-loving families, this can mean being able to take the beloved family dog, cat, lizard, or hamster on a trip with them. There are a lot of benefits to driving a full-size SUV, but the Sequoia goes above and beyond by giving drivers a few additional features.

A Sliding Third Row

The sliding third row gives the Sequoia a huge advantage over other competitors’ full-size SUVs. This allows the back row of seats to move forward or backward along a track in the vehicle up to 6 inches in either direction. This allows families to maximize space based on what they are using the SUV for. If you’re taking the dog to the vet and don’t want them in the back seat, you can move that row up and give Fido some space in the back of the vehicle. If you’re trying to fit half of your teen’s basketball team, you can move that seat back to give those long-legged kids some space and leg room. The ability to adjust that third row with ease is a great asset for the Sequoia.

Space for Everyone

The amount of cargo space in the Sequoia is phenomenal. At its lowest, the Sequoia can handle up to 22.3 cu.ft. of space. That’s enough room for each passenger to have at least one medium-sized suitcase in the back cargo area. This amount of room signals the end of an era based on trying to fit suitcases under the shortest-legged family member in the vehicle. We would have appreciated THAT ability when we were younger; our legs were always so cramped sitting on top of our bags! With the ability to accommodate a bag for every seat in the cargo space, the Sequoia is a great fit for families.

If you’re not going to fill every seat in your SUV and find you’d rather have more room for camping, hiking, or other day trip gear, then the Sequoia maxes out its cargo capacity at 86.9 cu.ft. of cargo space. This is enough room to help move your newly graduated teen into their college dorm in just one trip. That’s an impressive amount of space for any vehicle, let alone one designed to carry people rather than stuff. Toyota truly gave their Sequoias their best SUV cargo features.

Impressive Fuel Efficiency

Driving a family around can be expensive. You’ve got to take Becky to ballet, Stacey to swim, Fido to the vet, Kevin to Karate, Larry forgot his lunch, and you need a serious deep tissue massage after running all those errands and managing a house. If you want to be able to afford gas and a massage, the Sequoia is a great option for you. The 2023 Sequoia is expected to get upwards of an estimated 21 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway. For an SUV that can hold all the bags and gear of your kids and fit the dog comfortably, that’s a very competitive fuel economy estimate. Toyota wants to reduce the number of tasks on your to-do list, so you can make stops at the gas station as few and far between as possible.

Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.5 Suite

Keeping our families safe is a big deal, which is why Toyota included their signature Safety Sense suite of safety features in their 2023 Sequoias. Safety Sense includes a couple of really handy features that will help keep you and your family safe on the roads.

Pre-Collision System With Pedestrian Detection

Their pre-collision system is one of the best and includes pedestrian detection. This is especially handy when driving through your neighborhood, and a kid is chasing their ball into the street. It also is helpful for those times when you look in the back seat to quickly threaten to turn the car around and miss that the vehicle in front of you is slowing down. The pre-collision essentially responds by braking to avoid forward impact if you are less than responsive.

Lane Departure and Assist

This feature allows your vehicle to engage in some corrective steering maneuvers to keep your SUV between the lines. This is great for anyone who has once been distracted by common occurrences like a sneeze or had to perform their one-thousandth check to see their child is, in fact, safely strapped into their seat.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

This cruise control setup is designed to hold a set speed while still adjusting to traffic and other vehicles. With this feature, you get to set a speed you want your vehicle to maintain, and the cruise will hold this speed unless other vehicles prevent it. We know that as parents, you’re spending tons of time behind the wheel driving kids to tournaments, competitions, and school. Having this feature saves your tired feet from pure exhaustion whenever possible.

Road Sign Assist

Using a special camera, the 2023 Sequoia can read and identify road signs. With this feature, it is able to detect speed limit signs, stop and yield signs, and road work signs. It then takes this information and displays them on the driver information screen. This is amazing to have when you’re driving in unfamiliar areas or if you’re one of those people who is always wondering what the speed limit on the road is.

Power Outlets & Wireless Charging

Just about everyone in the family has a device nowadays. The toddlers have their tablets, the teens have their smartphones, and the parents remember the days of pagers. Toyota knows how prevalent technology is in our lives now, and they know that the road is no place for a toddler tantrum to occur because their tablet is dead. They’ve packed the 2023 Sequoias with various charging options. From outlets to wireless, you can keep your devices charged and ready for use no matter how long you spend on the road.

Transporting a Family Can Be Tough, but the Sequoia Has Your Back

Driving your family around is stressful enough. First, you’ve got to get them out of bed and dressed, and then you have to feed them, make sure everybody grabs everything they need, get them all out to the car, do one more check that everyone has everything, run back into the house to grab the forgotten items, then drive down the road and turn around to grab the other things that were accidentally left behind. It’s a lot of work! You may as well pick a vehicle that will make that a little easier, and we truly feel like the 2023 Sequoias were made to make parents’ lives a little bit easier.
