Don’t Underrate the 2019 GMC Sierra

Don’t ignore GMC’s pickups. While rival brands may steal the headlines, this brand’s trucks have proven to be some of the best in the industry. However, since GMC may not be as popular as some other brands, customers start to underrate some of their offerings. This couldn’t be truer than in the 2019 GMC Sierra. Customers will probably end up eyeing a truck like the 2019 Chevy Silverado, especially since that’s the nameplate that the 2019 Sierra is based off. However, GMC’s offering manages to separate itself due to a number of impressive attributes, including innovative technology, a comfortable interior, reliable safety, and unbeatable performance.

We’re going to explain why you shouldn’t be underrating the 2019 GMC Sierra, assuring you don’t accidentally miss the nameplate as you’re shopping for a new pickup…

Don’t Underrate the: Technology

Customers generally don’t expect a whole lot from a pickup’s interior, but GMC’s engineers did an incredible job of including a plethora of innovative technologies to the 2019 GMC Sierra.

It starts with the Premium GMC Infotainment System, which provides quick and easy access to many useful applications. Whether you’re looking to access vehicle diagnostics, your rearview camera (which we’ll touch on later), radio, or navigation, it’s all a click away via the eight-inch touchscreen. The system also includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, making it more than easy to connect your smartphone to the unit. Thanks to this inclusion, drivers can capitalize on many of their phone’s essential functions, including text messaging and phone calls, and they won’t have to take their eyes off the road while doing so.

If you’re going to be relying on your smartphone during your ride, then you’ll appreciate the addition of the wireless charging pad. This feature means you’ll never have to deal with pesky wires and cords, although you can simply rely on the provided USP ports if you have a cable and that process doesn’t bother you.

If you enjoy jamming out to your favorite tunes when you’re on the road, then you’ll appreciate the available Bose Premium Sound System. With speakers strategically placed around the interior, you’ll receive an optimal listening experience, allowing you to truly enjoy your favorite music.

You may not have expected a whole lot of technological amenities to be included in the 2019 GMC Sierra, which only helps to confirm why the nameplate is one of the most underrated trucks in the industry.

Don’t Underrate the: Interior

Customers generally don’t expect a whole lot from a pickup’s interior when it comes to comfort, leading to all trucks being underrated in this regard. The 2019 GMC Sierra’s interior isn’t only about technology. Rather, engineers included several features that will help to boost comfort and convenience.

The cabin includes a number of storage spots, like an under-seat storage bin, rear seatback storage compartments, and a “lockable console vault accessory” in the center console. The brand somehow managed to include these amenities without compromising interior room, as the GMC Sierra also delivers class-leading front head and leg room.

Occupants can also stay comfy thanks to the rear-seat comfort features, including the rear vents and the available heated outboard seats. To top it all off, engineers managed to make the interior incredibly quiet, meaning passengers won’t be annoyed by any of the normal sounds that usually accompany pickups.

It’s not hyperbole when we say that the Sierra delivers one of the most enjoyable and relaxing driving experiences in the class. This is just another underrated aspect of the nameplate.

Don’t Underrate the: Safety

Hopefully, customers are doing their homework and aren’t underrating a safety function in any target vehicle. Still, even we were surprised that the 2019 GMC Sierra manages to deliver so many safety functions.

While we’d never recommend driving dangerously, you may be more willing to test the boundaries of your new vehicle when you’re behind the wheel of the 2019 GMC Sierra. Fortunately, you’ll never have to worry about your well being, as the pickup is equipped with many safety functions that will ensure the safety of you and your passengers.

Many of these inclusions are intended to prevent accidents from occurring in the first place. The Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking will determine when you’re approaching a vehicle at too great of a speed. After notifying the driver, the vehicle can actually manipulate the brakes to help lessen or prevent the impending impact. The vehicle is stocked with a number of additional “Driver-Assist Technologies,” as well. For instance, the Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning provide the driver with their own built-in co-pilot. There’s also a rearview camera, allowing drivers to monitor everything that’s happening around their pickup at all times.

Of course, the vehicle was engineered to endure wear and tear, and the structure should keep occupants protected in the event of a crash (the accompanying airbags will play a role, too). The truck even includes OnStar technology. That way, if you end up in a collision, help is only a click of a button away.

Don’t Underrate the: Performance

Sure, the 2019 GMC Sierra doesn’t provide customers with any choices when it comes to engines, as the vehicle can only be equipped with a single offering. However, this shouldn’t be interpreted as a bad thing. Rather, this means engineers had a chance to focus on the engine and optimize all of the accompanying specs.

The finished product is a sight to be seen. The 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine delivers all of the power you could possibly want from a new pickup truck. The system is capable of cranking out an incredible 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, meaning there’s a good chance you’ll be operating one of the most powerful vehicles on the road. Plus, perhaps most impressively, the vehicle is also relatively fuel efficient. Drivers can ultimately expect the truck to deliver a 23-mile-per-gallon highway fuel efficiency, thus saving owners some extra money at the gas pump.

We’re not entirely sure if customers would be expecting a whole lot of power from one of GMC’s rides. They should probably start changing their mindset when they get a look at the power specs included in the 2019 Sierra.

Don’t Underrate the: Exterior Options

While the brand might not provide customers with the chance to choose an engine, they’ll have more than enough options when it comes to the exterior. The brand provides buyers with the chance to choose from 11 different exterior paint offerings, including

  • Smokey Quartz Metallic
  • Dark Sky Metallic
  • Deep Mahogany Metallic
  • Quicksilver Metallic
  • Onyx Black
  • Summit White
  • Cardinal Red
  • Pacific Blue Metallic
  • Red Quartz Tintcoat
  • Satin Steel Metallic
  • White Frost Tricoat

The brand also provides a number of wheel offerings, including 18-inch, 20-inch, and 22-inch options.

As you’re shopping for your truck, you might not be considering the exterior options. Well, considering the number of potential combinations you could make with the 2019 Sierra, you should probably start analizing your options.

So there you have it. Hopefully after seeing everything the 2019 GMC Sierra delivers, you won’t be underrating the pickup truck any longer.
