It’s What’s Inside That Counts: Comfort Features on the 2024 Chevy Blazer

There are all kinds of features to consider when buying a car, from the engine under the hood to the color and shape of the exterior. But when you’re behind the wheel, the interior features are going to make a big difference when it comes to your personal comfort. So today, we’re going to dig into the comfort features on the 2024 Chevy Blazer.

The Blazer is a midsize SUV that’s known for its versatility. Whether you use it to run short errands every day or take big road trips every vacation, you’ll want to get a trim that makes you feel comfortable behind the wheel. Let’s explore the range of features that can make your driving life more pleasant and look at how they’re spread out across the Blazer’s trim lineup, from the base 2LT and 3LT to the sporty RS and top-tier Premier.

All-Weather Comfort

Would you rather be too hot or too cold? Making someone choose between the two is fine for an icebreaker conversation at a party, but when you’re behind the wheel trying to focus on driving, the clear answer should be: neither. Keeping the cabin an ideal temperature, no matter what time of year it is, is a crucial part of ensuring you and your passengers are comfortable on the road.

The most basic tool a vehicle has for this purpose is climate control: the air conditioning and heat that blows out through various ducts throughout the cabin. Of course, this comes standard across the lineup. In fact, all trims of the Blazer feature standard dual-zone automatic climate control. This way, the driver and front passenger can each pick their own ideal temperature. Since everyone, from spouses to friends, has trouble agreeing on what temperature is “just right,” this feature can keep both bad weather and nasty arguments at bay. Rear air vents are also standard, so backseat passengers won’t have to wait for the AC or heat to travel all the way from the front vents to the back of the cabin.

New for the 2024 model year, heated front seats are also standard across the lineup, making it a snap to warm up quickly on a cold winter day. Heated rear seats aren’t standard on any trim but are an available add-on for RS and Premier trims. These top-tier trims come standard with a heated steering wheel, so you won’t have to drive with your gloves or suffer from numb fingers on a chilly morning. For hot summer days, ventilated seats are an available add-on for the RS and Premier trims, giving you an extra tool to prevent sweat from pooling up during the next heat wave.

Seating Customization

Of course, being too hot or cold aren’t the only issues when it comes to comfort on the road. Being in a bad position can hurt your back, especially if you’re driving long distances, which can leave you sore even after you arrive at your destination. Everyone’s body is different, which is why seats in vehicles are adjustable. The more ways they can be adjusted, the better you can get your position to suit your individual needs, and power-adjustable seats typically let you refine your position more easily than their manually-adjustable counterparts, which have a few set positions that can be locked into place.

All trims of the Blazer come standard with an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat that lets you move forward and back, move up and down, tilt the seat cushion, and adjust the lumbar support. You can also recline the seat back to best fit your posture. On the 2LT trim, your front passenger will have to settle for a four-way manually-adjustable seat but upgrade to any of the other trim levels, and they’ll get a six-way power-adjustable seat that has all of the features of the driver’s seat except for the lumbar support.

Power adjustability makes setting your seat position easier, but it can still take some time to get everything just right. That’s fine if you’re the only one who drives your vehicle, but if you ever trade off driving duty with your spouse, partner, or roommate whose preferences are different from yours, changing the settings back every time you switch can get annoying fast. On the RS and Premier trims, you can fix this problem with the available memory settings. This allows you to save the preferences for not just the driver’s seat position but also the outside mirrors and steering column for two drivers. Instead of going through each setting one by one, you can simply press a single button and get everything right where you want it.

Sound

You never know where your drive may take you. Even if you live in a quiet neighborhood, an errand or road trip may take you past construction worksites or noisy city streets. Not only can loud noises be unpleasant for you and your passengers, but they can also be dangerously distracting while trying to focus on your drive, especially if navigating an unfamiliar area. To address this issue, the Blazer comes standard with active noise cancellation across all trim levels.

This system works on multiple levels to address unwanted sound. First, it dampens vibrations from bumpy roads and absorbs sound coming from outside the cabin. On top of that, it uses a microphone to pick up on unwanted noise coming from the vehicle’s powertrain and uses the cabin’s speakers to actively cancel it out, like noise-canceling headphones that work for the entire interior, leaving you with the quiet environment you need to hear your navigation directions, have hands-free phone calls while en route, and catch up with your passengers during your drive.

You’ll also have the quiet environment you need to enjoy music, radio shows, and podcasts without cranking the volume up uncomfortably high. The 2LT and 3LT trims have a six-speaker audio system that provides clear sound to front and rear passengers alike. But if you’re an audiophile looking for something beyond standard quality, then you might want to upgrade to RS or Premier to get the Bose premium sound system, which raises the number of speakers up to eight and includes a subwoofer for better fidelity at low frequencies.

Which Trims Offer the Best Comfort?

When it comes to interior comfort features, 2LT and 3LT are essentially tied. The differences between these trims are in other categories, like safety and convenience. Features like rear cross-traffic alert, side blind zone alert, and a programmable power liftgate are standard on the 3LT but not the 2LT. Likewise, the RS and Premier have basically identical comfort, which makes sense since they have the same starting price. The difference here is that the RS is sportier, with a more powerful engine and black exterior accents, while the Premier features classy bright chrome accents and is more fuel efficient.

Looking across the full range of comfort features, it’s clear that the RS and Premier trims have the most to offer. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s shopped for a car before, as extra creature comforts are often the main draw that automakers offer to entice drivers to upgrade to a more premium trim level. However, the base 2LT trim comes standard with several features that competitors often make optional, like a power-adjustable driver’s seat and heated front seats. That’s good news for drivers who prioritize interior luxuries but don’t have the budget to upgrade to the most expensive trim levels.
