A 2025 Nissan Murano Buyer’s Guide: What to Know Before You Buy

Nissan is hitting the ground running when it comes to the 2025 Murano. They have a whole slate of high-end features and all new technologies being implemented into one of their most popular nameplates. But before you jet off to a Nissan dealer to check out 2025 Murano, it’s important you do the lab work first to understand which of the trims are going to be right for you, and what sort of features you’ll want to focus on before you commit to a purchase. That’s why I’m here to help you get all of the necessary information sorted before you head to a dealership for this hotly anticipated all new Nissan.

Choose From a Variety of Trims and Colors

The 2025 Murano has a simplified trim line-up for the new generation model year. It has three basic trims for the model year, and no special editions this time around. They decided to keep it simple and streamlined. All of the trims are also paired with a single powertrain, a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo inline 4-cylinder that makes 241 hp at 260 lb-ft of torque and can tow up to 1,500 lbs. The trims for the 2025 Murano are the SV, SL, and Platinum.

The three trims offer different grades of feature sets and luxury options depending on what you’re shopping for. Also, the SV comes standard in front-wheel drive but is available with Nissan’s intelligent all-wheel drive, while the SL and Platinum come standard with all-wheel drive functionality. So that’s something to consider regarding fuel economy versus stability. Additionally, there are no other extraneous packages for the 2025 Murano trims other than a spare tire. So you cannot upgrade the SV to the SL via packaging, or upgrade the SL to Platinum through package options like you can with some other trim line-ups.

In total there are 13 different color options, with five different two-tone colors. You have Aurora Blue Metallic, Scarlet Ember Tintcoat, Deep Ocean Blue Metallic, Super Black, Gun Metallic, Brilliant Silver Metallic, Champagne Silver Metallic, and Everest White Tricoat. The two-tone colors combine a Super Black rooftop with either Everest White, Boulder Gray Pearl, Ocean Blue Pearl, Scarlet Ember, or Aurora Blue Metallic. The Platinum and SL have access to all of the color schemes, whereas the SV only has access to six solid colors.

For entry-level shoppers the SV comes with all of the basic amenities that you need (or want) from a 2025 Murano. The SL provides slightly more features and upscale options, and the Platinum provides the best that the model has to offer when it comes to a fully featured compact SUV. As usual, if you’re willing to pay more to get more out of the Murano, then you’re going to be able to enjoy and indulge in the luxury, tech, and convenience features provided by the new generation Murano and the upper-grade trims.

A Spacious Interior Packed With Comfort and Convenience

Nissan has provided three different interior colors for the 2025 Murano when it comes to the layout. For the Platinum you have Graphite Leatherette with semi-aniline leather appointments, Gray Leatherette with semi-aniline leather appointments, and Blue Leatherette with semi-aniline leather appointments. The SL provides you with Graphite or Gray Leatherette, while the SV provides you with either Super Black or Gunmetal interior options. So there are already reasons to opt for different trims based on your taste in styling and interior design.

Nissan describes the interior as “elegant” and “minimalist” for the new generation Murano, and that definitely tracks. You have seating for up to five people, with 32.9 cu-ft of cargo capacity behind the second row, which you can fold down to make space for even more cargo capacity, opening up the Murano for 63.5 cu-ft of total cargo space. The Murano also features the Zero Gravity rear seats, for improved structural and lumbar support, and you also have access to plenty of storage capacity such as cup holders, seatback storage, and compartment storage, along with two front and two rear USB type-C ports.

Additionally, there are available heated and ventilated front seats with massage capabilities, and a matching heated steering wheel with a flat-bottom design and push-button shifters. There is a cleaner center console design for additional storage, and a wireless charging pad for your smart devices. You also have a very cool Murano Glass dashboard finish that features a color-shifting graphics display and light-based textures. Speaking of light, there is also a 64-color ambient light feature sprinkled throughout the cabin. You can also relax with the panoramic moonroof that is available for the upper-end trims.

Innovative Tech, Inside and Out

The inside has a nice ergonomic feel to it with the all new streamlined digital display panels, which includes dual 12.3 displays, including a digital driver display with customizable telemetry, and a center console display with HD sharpness and touchscreen capabilities. The capacitive-touch panels enable you to access system functionality and controls with ease. The infotainment stack also includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a wireless charging pad, which is perfect for those with smartphones who want to be able to wirelessly charge your devices while on the go. Plus the SL and Platinum come standard with the Bose 10-speaker sound system, while active noise cancellation is standard across the entire trim line.

The 2025 Murano also receives 3D Intelligent Around View for the very first time. This adds a bird’s-eye view of the vehicle by making use of the surrounding sensors and cameras. It gives you added viewing angles of the Murano for travel, parking, and avoiding potential obstacles. This also works in conjunction with the new Invisible Hood, so you can see more clearly for things you wouldn’t be able to spot otherwise. The other added tech includes a power liftgate, with the availability of a motion-activated power liftgate for the Platinum trim. This brings the tech more in line with the convenience features.

Keeping You Safe on the Road

On the safety front, you have the ProPILOT Assist, which is a hands-on driver assistance system that works with the Intelligent Cruise Control for steering assisted driving. It also works in conjunction with the Navi-link synchronization so that you can very easily and conveniently navigate to your destination with detailed information and predictive route planning. The ProPILOT Assist with Intelligent Cruise Control can even work with the navigation suite to help brace for turns or slow the vehicle down based on curves detected in the planned route.

The operating system is also powered by the Google built-in suite, which features Google Maps and the Google Assistant. You can use this to help plan routes, set up service schedules, acquire apps, or customize your infotainment layout. You also have access to the Google Play app store, which is convenient if you want to fill out your Murano with additional apps.

The Nissan Safety Shield 360 also comes standard with driver aids, driver assistance features, lane centering, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warnings. You have Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, High Beam Assist, and Rear Automatic Braking. You also have physical safety in the form of multiple airbags, under-seat reinforcement, and all new passenger-side knee airbags. These assists and safety features are standard across all of the trims, so you don’t have to feel as if you’re losing something choosing one trim over the other when it comes to safety.

Which 2025 Nissan Murano Best Fits Your Needs?

All three trim grades for the 2025 Nissan Murano offer some great features and enhancements. However, what your budget allows and what features you want will determine which trim is best suited for you or your family. The next time you visit a Nissan dealer to shop for a 2025 Nissan Murano, definitely consider what is a priority for you? If you want the best comfort, luxury, and tech features on hand, then the SL or Platinum will be the way to go. If you want a Murano that has all of the basic amenities, safety and tech, then the SV is the trim for you. You can’t really go wrong with either trim because the unified design language of the cabin interior and sweeping infotainment panel makes each entry tech-rich in its own right. However, if you really wanted the extra tech features or massaging leather seats, then the Platinum will be the way to go. Otherwise, the trim that fits your budget comfortably is going to be your best bet overall.
