2024 Honda HR-V Trim Guide

Since 2016, Honda has been offering drivers a subcompact SUV model with a real difference. The HR-V made an immediate impression with a surprisingly roomy trunk and interior, advanced technological features, and a very unique exterior appearance. With the introduction of the second-generation HR-V model last year, the vehicle has gotten a bit larger and more upscale. In addition, the styling was changed to more closely resemble the Civic compact sedan, with a more powerful standard engine and more technological advances added to the model.

The 2024 Honda HR-V has arrived with three trim levels to choose from. If you are looking for a Honda HR-V for sale, you get a number of options, so you are in a better position to decide on the features that matter most to you. Some features are standard across the full trim lineup, like the engine, transmission, and Honda Sensing driver assistance features. Others, like Real Time AWD, are available as an optional feature on every trim level. Then, there are those features that are trim-specific.

Honda HR-V LX

The base trim in the lineup is the LX. This has a starting MSRP of $24,600. It features a 2.0L I-4 gas engine with a dual overhead cam design. This provides 16 valves for its four cylinders. It also has a Dual Variable Timing Control, a form of variable valve timing that adjusts how long the valves are open in order to save fuel. The engine comes paired with a continuously variable transmission and uses multi-point fuel injection to provide 158 hp at 6500 RPM and 138 lb-ft of torque at 4200 RPM.

This is a very fuel-efficient engine, giving you an EPA-estimated 28 MPG combined fuel economy with front-wheel drive. If you opt for the available Real Time AWD, Honda’s all-wheel drive system, the estimated fuel economy drops slightly to a still impressive 27 MPG combined. This fuel economy helps make the 2024 HR-V a great choice for commuters and student drivers on a budget. While the HR-V won’t win any races, it can still go from zero to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds, with a top speed of 115 mph. This should be sufficient acceleration to merge onto a busy highway during rush hour.

For a base trim, the 2024 HR-V LX has a great deal to offer. It rides on a set of 17-inch silver-painted alloy wheels and can seat up to five passengers. Honda has also done a great job distributing beverage holders throughout the cabin. There is 98.7 cu.ft. of space inside the passenger compartment, with 41.9 inches of legroom in the front row and 37.7 inches in the back. This is plenty of room for all of your passengers to stretch out. The HR-V also has a very useful trunk, with 24.4 cu.ft. of space behind the second row of seats. If you fold down these seats, you can free up a total of 55.1 cu.ft., which should be great when you have to move or need to carry bigger loads.

The 2024 HR-V is also very technology-forward. Every trim features the Honda Sensing suite of driver assist features. If the system senses an imminent frontend collision, it will sound the Forward Collision Warning, so you can take evasive action. At the same time, the Collision Mitigation Braking System will automatically engage the brakes. If you start to drift out of your lane, the Lane Departure Warning will sound, while the Lane Keeping Assist System will use slight steering adjustments to get you safely back in lane.

The 2024 HR-V LX also features Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow. This will adjust the speed you set on the cruise control system to match slower traffic in your lane. There is also a Traffic Sign Recognition System that will let you know the posted speed limit wherever you go.

Not all of the HR-V’s technology is for safety. Every trim features the HondaLink infotainment system. This allows you to pair your smartphones using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so you can make hands-free calls and texts while streaming your favorite music. The LX trim features a seven-inch touchscreen and a 180-watt audio system with four speakers. The only hard part is choosing the music to listen to on your next trip.

Honda HR-V Sport

The Sport trim adds a number of interior and exterior features to the HR-V, giving it a very cool look. The 2024 HR-V Sport rides on a set of 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, with a trim-exclusive Sport Grille and chrome exhaust finisher. This trim level starts at an MSRP of $26,150.

When you open the door to the HR-V Sport’s interior, you see a number of key upgrades. The steering wheel and shift knob are leather-wrapped. This will give you a firmer grip. Also, you and your passenger are going to appreciate the heated front seats on this trim, especially on cold mornings. Finally, the vanity mirrors on the Sport are illuminated, so you can use them at night as well.

Honda has given the Sport a number of key technological advances that are standard or available on the trim. For example, you can add a Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor to the Honda Sensing suite. This will help you when you go to change lanes on the highway by letting you know if there is another vehicle riding in your HR-V’s blind spot. It also prevents accidents when backing out of a parking space by alerting you to any pedestrians or other vehicles about to pass behind your HR-V. Finally, the HR-V Sport features an upgraded six-speaker audio system.

Honda HR-V EX-L

The top trim of the 2024 Honda HR-V is the EX-L, with a base MSRP of $28,150. This model adds a number of comfort, convenience, and technological features not available on the other two trim levels. The EX-L rides on a set of 17-inch machine-finished alloy wheels with gloss shark gray inserts. It also features heated power side mirrors, which can defrost and de-ice on chilly mornings. The EX-L also features a one-touch Power Moonroof, which will let you experience the outdoors on a sunny day. It even has a tilt feature so you can get some air into your passenger cabin without creating too much drag.

The key to this trim level is its luxurious interior. In addition to the leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, you also get leather-trimmed seats. These features not only look great but are also very comfortable. Like the Sport trim, the front row seats are heated. There is ambient LED lighting to help set the mood when going for an evening cruise. The automatic-dimming rearview mirror will also work to reduce glare.

Honda has added a number of key innovative features to this trim. In addition to the available Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, you also get a Low-Speed Braking Control. This is a type of automatic emergency braking that will help you avoid collisions when you are driving at slower speeds. You also get front and rear parking sensors, which will help guide you into and out of parking spaces in your HR-V.

The 2024 HR-V EX-L features a nine-inch touchscreen for its infotainment system. This comes with a trial subscription to SiriusXM, HD radio, and an eight-speaker audio system. In addition to the three standard USB charging ports, you also get a Qi-Compatible wireless phone charger on the EX-L trim. This use of innovative technology helps to set the EX-L apart from the LX and Sport trim levels.
