10 Cool Features on the New 2020 Chrysler Pacifica

Minivans always tend to have a bad reputation. But why? Who said that a family-size minivan had to be boring? Because guess what? It does not have to be! The new 2020 Chrysler Pacifica is not only family-friendly, but it brings a breath of fresh air into the three-row minivan class with its high-tech features and sleek style. Boasting a long list of systems and a strong performance on the roads, this is the ideal vehicle for large families with active lifestyles. And today, we are going to take a look at the ten features that make this minivan unique in the broad market of family vehicles. So, without further ado, let’s look at some of the coolest features available on this stylish ride.

#10 – Ample Storage

Full-size minivans need to be more than just people carriers. A well-rounded model also needs to have plenty of cargo room for backpacks, groceries, and luggage, and it needs to have smaller storage compartments for other items. Luckily, the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica has both of these features.

With seating for up to seven people, this model offers 32.3 cu.ft. of space behind the back row. If you fold down the third row, you can expand this area to 87.5 cu.ft. And the maximum storage area inside the new Pacifica is measured at a whopping 140.5 cu.ft. You can access this expansive space by folding down both back rows of seating. There are also plenty of smaller storage compartments, including consoles, a glovebox, and places to stash papers and small items in the doors and on the backs of the seats.

#9 – Stow ‘n Go Seats

Since we are talking about storage, we may as well go ahead and mention the class-exclusive Stow ‘n Go seats. The second and third rows feature Stow ‘n Go seats. These are able to fold flat and be hidden within the floor. This creates a completely level surface that you can easily load up or walk on. It also allows for custom seating configurations to suit your present needs. Keep in mind that some Pacifica models can be arranged to seat eight people. This depends on which model you get.

#8 – A Robust Powertrain

The same engine powers all 2020 Chrysler Pacifica models. Under the hood is a 3.6-liter V6 motor mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Together, they pump out 287 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. Although the standard drivetrain is FWD, you opt for AWD on the Touring L trim level. All you have to do is add the AWD Launch Edition package to your vehicle. With the standard powertrain and the proper Trailer Towing package, this minivan can haul up to 3,600 pounds. It also has an average fuel economy set at 22 MPG combined (19 city/28 highway). This is to be expected for such a large vehicle that can carry so many people.

#7 – The Advanced SafetyTec Package

While you may find some of these features throughout various trims, the Advanced SafetyTec package ensures that you can all of the following safety systems: surround-view cameras, automated parking, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, rain-sensing wipers, front parking sensors, and lane-departure warning. This high-tech package also includes an upgraded driver information display to keep you informed at all times.

#6 – The Touring Trim – Best Even at the Base

The base Touring trim comes with some fantastic features including keyless ignition/entry, remote start technology, cloth upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, tri-zone climate control, and active noise cancellation. It also has a stellar infotainment system displayed on a 7-inch touchscreen that operates with Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and satellite radio. Standard safety features include blindspot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

On the outside, the Pacifica Touring features 17-inch wheels, heated side mirrors, sliding rear doors, a power liftgate, fog lamps, and rear parking sensors. You can’t go wrong with this base model.

#5 – The Touring L Trim

Stepping up to the recommended Touring L term will get you a heated/leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, leather upholstery, driver-seat memory settings, and roof rails for extra storage space. You can easily travel with kayaks, bicycles, or additional luggage secured to the top of the vehicle. Remember the AWD Launch Edition package that we touched on before? You can add it to this trim as well. It also includes larger 18-inch wheels and black exterior accents.

#4 – The Touring L Plus Trim

This mid-level Touring L Plus adds even cooler features throughout the cabin. It comes with power-adjustable front seats, heated second-row seats, an upgraded center console, and ambient lighting. The infotainment interface also gets several upgrades on this trim including a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen, a Wifi hotspot, a navigation system, a 115-volt household-style outlet, extra USB ports for the third row, a back-seat DVD/Blu-Ray player entertainment system, and an Alpine sound system with 13 speakers. If you like to take family road trips, this is the perfect model for you.

#3 – The Limited Trim

The top-tier Limited version is dripping with luxurious features such as ventilated front seats, extra USB ports, power-folding third-row seats, and premium leather upholstery. On the outside, you also get 18-inch wheels, xenon headlights, auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, a hands-free liftgate, hands-free sliding doors, and LED fog lamps. In all, this premium trim has everything you could ever possibly want or need.

#2 – Harman Kardon Sound System

If all that wasn’t enough to satisfy you, you can also add the premium Harman Kardon sound system to the Pacifica. This advanced stereo features 20 speakers for a studio-worthy music experience inside the vehicle. If you love listening to your favorite playlists during your commute to work or on long road trips, this stand-alone add-on option is a great one.

#1 – Packages Galore!

Unlike most full-size minivans, the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica can get a whole new look with the addition of one of the three appearance packages. First, the S Appearance package adds black accents throughout the cabin and on the exterior of the vehicle. You also get a choice between 18- or 20-inch aluminum wheels with the Black Noise Finish.

Next, the Red S Edition adds leather-trimmed seats done in red and black, 20-inch aluminum wheels in Black Noise Finish, and unique badging. The final appearance package is the 35th Anniversary Edition. It comes with Nappa leather-trimmed seats with perforated insert and red stitching. This package also adds an all-black interior with Cranberry Wine bezels, an embroidered logo on the floor mats, and unique Liquid Chrome badging. In general, this minivan is very customizable, which is quite unique for this part of the vehicle market.
